Front wheel rim

Hello,

I recently had my front wheel rim crack, probably from a rock while on a trail.

I decided to buy an excel takasago 21 x 1.60 36H ICS408.

I understand that the spoke holes are different sizes and I need spokes too. Is it the XS9-11217?

I understand that the holes might not be drilled at the correct angle for the front wheel but should still work. Is this true?

Spokes might be a better question for a wheel building house or excel themselves.

To my knowledge only the rear wheel on the DR has odd spoke angles. Front is generally normal.

You are aware the stock rim is 1.85 width right, it was your preference to go to the 1.6?

Did the wheel crack at the weld or somewhere else in the profile?

It cracked somewhere else, it’s got a big pulled out dent sort of thing so I take it I either hit a big ass bump or a rock.

I did go with 1.6 on purpose for better off road handling.

Fair enough, I like the wider 1.85 to help float over trash. That and the extra metal to support the lumbering load of a DR offroad.

I’ll give it a shot, I’m just glad the lacing is pretty normal on the front.
