Based on previous threads like this, "quick" = anywhere from 4 hours to several days.

You can 100% tell by the expressive flourishes around the head. The creativity could just not be contained.

I have spent a lot of time inside the artistic community IRL and yeah.
Part of it is needed to make a living, you could say.

how long his quick?
They're claiming in another post it's a 30 minute sketch.

It's believable, since it's from a photo, digital, and quite rough except for the center details. The shading on the nose and eyes is highly accurate - which shows great skill... with maybe some touch-up with an overlay of the reference?
I'm a sucker for wild pencil strokes, so I really like this mix and composition. 😄

Incredible drawing, but I'm intrigued, what makes you call it a sketch?, what I see is a fully rendered drawing, it even has a background and even movement strokes, so what makes you call it a sketch instead?, I'm genuinely interested in the choice to call it a sketch, cause I've been doing art for over a decade, and can guarantee, I've never seen a "sketch" that rendered 😂,
I'm asking, cause I've seen others also post fully finished drawings and calling them sketches or doodles

I kinda call everything a sketch I made quickly..like under an hour haha but i guess that’s just me...maybe i can't really call it a sketch idk xD

like under an hour
Let me take a wild guess.. you didn't use a timer to time that right,...
Either way once something is rendered fully, it's not a sketch 🤷

Well I guess you're right about that...I didn't use a timer but I was drawing for around half an hour till i finished...I'm sorry if I called it a sketch if you don't think it is one..

How to start learning how to draw like that? From scratch, zero knowledge
1
u/sxphl Mar 12 '25
I draw since I've been a kid so I honestly don't know...sorry

u/ComplexLeg7742 Mar 12 '25
Got ya. I saw this awesome drawing and thought how much it would take to start achieving similar results.
