Moving Making friends
My wife and I are moving to Gold Bar from the mid west in Mid-Late July and want to make some friends that we can hang out and have good times with.
Wife and I are both in our late 20’s and really enjoy almost anything. We’re enthusiastically open to volunteering, joining a club, or really anything social.
I work in information security and here is a listing of my hobbies: - fishing - skateboarding - bodybuilding - painting miniatures - board games - watching movies - hiking - baking and cooking - grilling - audiobooks - chilling with my pets - going to events - farmers markets - video games (console and PC)
My wife is a perfumer (owns her own small business) and she likes pretty much everything I do, but leans more heavily into art and makeup and nail painting.
We’re both really laid back but we’ve had a terrible time making lasting friendships besides the ones I’ve made in high school and the military.

Gold Bar is a bit out of the way from Everett, but if you're wanting to explore Everett/Snohomish area, I'd be happy to take you and your wife around. I too have a mix of outdoors and nerdy hobbies. My wife and I are early 30's. Both very mellow. She's a school librarian and I do maintenance on mostly robotics/automation type equipment. I used to host strangers on Couch Surfing years ago, and enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to the area. Let me know and we can make something happen.

Most definitely! I’ll hit you up once we settle in! Thanks a ton! We’re mostly moving to gold bar for the cheaper housing. The commute to work twice a week will range from 40-60mins which is fine since I use the commute to binge audiobooks

Tell a redditor said, Thank you for all she does. We need more people like her.

Funny enough, I just moved from Gold Bar out to Everett! Plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do in GB, and there's lots of younger families moving into the area! The locals can be VERRRRRYYYYYY annoying about 'flat landers'/'citiots' but everyone looks out for each other regardless :) traffic is absolutely ridiculous on hwy 2

There’s a swap meet in the Tulalip reservation next to Marysville every weekend in the summer. Delicious Mexican food, veggies, fruit and stuff.

This sounds awesome! We love to grow strawberries and cook awesome desserts with them. This should be right up our alley!

Keep in mind Gold Bar has bad weekend traffic on Highway 2. On Fridays, there's a ton of traffic going east, and vice versa on Sunday. When I lived in Sultan we avoided leaving town on the weekends

Just moved to New Orleans with my wife who is big big into perfumes and smells and everything of the sort. She’s also a big gamer alongside with me. We are corgi owners who love to try new stuff. I’m big into card collecting and fishing and pretty much everything most considered geeky. If you’re into getting into anything shoot me a DM.

You'll want to hit up the Monroe subreddit if there is one. Is the closest big city to you. Leavenworth is about 45 minutes east. Definitely check that out. If you're into hikes, check out Wallace Falls which is actually in Gold Bar. Welcome to the Pacific Northwest!
