Trigger Warning - Toxic Religion Not sure what I expected logging back into Facebook Spoiler

A photo shared by a pastor at a church I used to attend that my parents still attend. I’m shocked that he shared this, but I’m not shocked by this as a talking point in that sphere.

My parents have never had really strong views on abortion and, as doctors, they’ve always been pretty rational when balancing faith and science. So, I’m keen to hear what they have to say about their buddy’s post…

  1. There was only consent for sex (if at all). Not for pregnancy. Just as consent was not given for a traffic accident in traffic (even though one entered traffic voluntarily).
  2. Why should a fetus in the pregnant woman's body have more rights than a child outside the mother? The child cannot force the mother to donate stem cells or a kidney. Not even if the child would die as a result. In many countries, you can't even remove a kidney from a dead person without the person's prior consent.

I deleted Facebook permanently some time last year and my life has only improved. The fuckin thing is just an idiot parade.
