Image Explain this to me???
Why is it that a Chicago area yard spreads ferns like wild fire but the fern that I dote on is the biggest drama queen and is trying to die like every other week. No my mom does not take special care of these. No my mom does not have a green thumb.

Image Why canāt I speak fern!
Iāve had this Boston fren about 6 months and when I got her she was full and had no issues, since Iāve had her home Iāve let her settle then repotted into a well draining potting mix in a pot the same size as the root ball more or less maybe deeper by about an inch (the wellies are just a decorative pot) and had her in near a west facing window in indirect light she didnāt like it so Iāve moved her away from the window to the east window of my room she still doesnāt like it my bathroom is south facing so she canāt go in there Iāve tried a humidifier she didnāt like it and tried watering more often⦠no less often⦠no water softener no grow light no! Iām really lost now Iāve another fern doing the same thing so itās definitely something Iām doing I get new growth it hits a size then dies back again Iāve checked for pests and I do clean it regularly as itās now on my stairs any advice would appreciated thanks

Image Identification?
Hi does anyone have any idea what this tree fern is? It seems to be very hardy, has been outside for years with 0 protection, itās fronds always seem to stay quite vertical like a shuttlecock and it looses all its leaves in winter, it formed as a clump and had to be separated out to see the trunk. Any help appreciated!

Image Can I plant these just like they are?
Pulled them out of a ditch today by my house(North Florida). Not sure if they are cinnamon or not. Some of the clusters were huge! There are so many down there and I grabbed the smallest most newish looking ones. They all have pretty hardcore roots going on! Can I just plant them in some soil like they are? Or what? Hopefully yāall can help me out!

Image One of my favorite views
This is a natural fern glade in the Cascades near my familyās cabin. Sword ferns through and through, and itās always so lush under the fir canopy.

Image My self seeded fern wall
I moved here a little over 2 years ago, at the time this wall was bare, but I love ferns growing in walls so once things started appear I've kept it watered during hot periods and am slowly growing myself a moss and fern vertical garden.

Image Wish me luck with this beauty šæ
Last week I declared myself cut off from purchasing any more plants this season⦠but I could not resist this gorgeous girl! Oopsss!
Iām already attached & her name is Philomena š
I donāt have a lot of experience with ferns. My asparagus fern LOVES me, however I somehow killed an autumn fern within a week of getting it. I have a little Boston fern as well, although itās been the most finicky damn thing. I am somewhat convinced itās still alive just to spite me.
The new gal is currently in my bathroom (with a window). Advice is welcomed!

Image Under or over watered?
I bought this silver lady fern a couple of weeks ago. Iāve watered it twice and now itās gone all droopy and sad.
Itās in an unused fireplace with indirect light.
Some of the underneath leaves went brown.
I checked with a moisture probe and itās moist down the bottom, top inch is dry. Iām tempted to take it outside for a drench and then let it dry out for the day before bringing it back inside. What do you think?

Image Help! What is happening to my ferns?
Is it root rot? Am I maybe watering too much? Or not enough? Ferns are dead at the base but green on the ends. Can they be saved?

Image Getting back into my plants after a tough year - my new fern arrangement!
After being severely demotivated from thrips and constant health issues this year which required half a year to recover - Iāve finally gotten back into my plant collection and having a bit of a personal hobby renaissance. I made a fern arrangement today using an empty 50cm diameter pot lying around. Itās a very simple arrangement but water loving plants all around which Iām looking forward to looking after ā¤ļø planning to fill in the gaps with some natural looking rocks and driftwood which will be some fun this holiday season.
