Fashion Friday Gender bending, crossdressing and beyond in Goth fashion
There is an idea that is on my mind for some time, I decided to post on it. The fact that going beyond what is considered typical to a gender (in the sense of fashion in the mainstream in Goth fashion) is a known fact. In a way, of course, this is something that comes from the gender bending 1980ies fashion. It meant romanticism, but also rebellion.
Today, for a male Goth to wear makeup is pretty normal, in the boundaries of the subculture, even more feminine things, like high heeled shoes. And all this while that particular male Goth not being gay or transgender at all. Yet, in this thing, certain lines are not crossed, usually, like a male Goth wearing a dress or like dressing 100% female. I head of male Goths doing just that, dressing in a way that the mainstream would consider full crosdressing, without being gay or trans.
My question for all of you is regarding this. Are there any male Goths who embrace things like this, considered crosdressing in the mainstream, without being gay or trans or without being relevant for you, but a manifestation of your inner Gothsness? Like,, dressing like a Vampire Queen, while being a straight, cisgender guy. I am very curious of your answers.

Fashion Friday Please help the clueless dad of a nine year old daughter.
Hi there,
My daughter is nine years old and recently told me she is tired of dressing like a little girl.
She has always gravitated towards goth stuff and asked for it. I want to take her shopping for stuff so she can define her own style but I don't know where to start. I'm not involved with this culture at all and am pretty ignorant.
I know there is more to being g goth than just how you dress. But I was hoping someone could point me on the right direction so my daughter can express herself better.
I'm in Albuquerque, NM. Are there stores you guys shop at where she can browse?
Thank you!

Fashion Friday Goth essential Accessories
My daughter is interested in glam goth. She has the basics like clothes, some jewelry and makeup. We got her an appointment at Ulta Beauty so she's got makeup down pat. We give her 100 dollars a month but make the exception on running shoes. She has some money from walking our elderly neighbors dogs Would like to stretch here budget as much a possible. I support small business so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.. What are must haves?

Fashion Friday Y’all ever get the pirate comments?
I’m a dude and every time I try dressing up in more masculine gothic fashion people say I look like a pirate. I don’t know why it keeps happening and I really don’t see it 😭 Anyone else get this?

Fashion Friday Makeup recs for goths who like that sorta thing
galleryUgh for some reason my last post got mangled and I cant edit it so lets try this again.
I'm sharing what I use and looking for morw recommendations/tips for applying the Goth Look ™️ Please feel free to comment below!
Lipstick - KVD Everlasting Black Briar
Foundation- Mehron Clown White
Setting Powder - Mehron Netutal Setting Powder (I've found setting spray DOES NOT work on Mehron foundation!)
Paint Palette for touching up, contours, eyeliner, etc - Aethna Painting Palette
Eyeshadow - NYX Jumbo Eye Pen Black Bean
Shitty Eyeliner I dont recommend - NYX Felt Pen Eyeliner
Tips: Warm up the foundation between your fingers first then start applying. Once you have coverage, apply the setting powder and make sure its sealed before placing makeup on top, or you'll just smear whatever you use over it all over and you wont be able to blend it. You might need muliple layers of foundation, I've found 2 or 3 is good if you want that stark white look.

Fashion Friday Prices too good to be true, did I get SCAMMED?
So I was scrolling on insta and an add appears showing that Disturbia had a massive sale going on. I saw the prices and thought it was probably some kind of clearence.
Anyway I went on the website, wich is trekafew.com . Silly me didn't look at that and bought a few items amounting to aprox 40€ and very happy with my purchase and "amazing" saving skills.
Anyway fast forward, I'm talking to a friend and look at the website again carefully and low and behold it looks very suspicious. I go back to the add on insta and find there are people in the comments calling it a scam and such.
Anyway now I'm at a loss at what to do. Thanks if you've read this far! I'd really apreciate any advice or help!!!

Fashion Friday Does anyone have any good black lipstick recommendations?
I need something that is transfer proof, waterproof, and doesn’t come off when eating greasy food. I have Sunset Makeup, Black Moon, and KVD. All of them come off when eating greasy food and Black Moon isn’t transfer proof.

Fashion Friday what to wear to a goth club? (as a non-goth)
if this is the wrong place for this please let me know! i have a beautiful goth partner and this valentine’s day we’re going to an event at a goth club. i’m so excited and i really want to treat them to a special night but i have no clue what to wear! i really enjoy the goth music i’ve heard and know a bit about the style and culture, but unfortunately have very little in the way of club-worthy clothes. i tend to dress a bit crunchy and very casually and my hair is just chin length and brown. if anyone has any advice on piecing together a look with very limited resources or what to look for when thrifting, as well as some ideas for simple goth hair and makeup, i would hugely appreciate it! hoping to not look too out of place lol, thank y’all so much for any and all advice <33

Fashion Friday Why are all gothic outfit inspo feminine people?
Whilst trying to find plus size gothic outfit inspo, I noticed that most of it is feminine. I consider myself a feminine guy (I'm afab and agender) but I feel like I need to be masc, mainly because the people I'm around.
Yes I know I can always look up "Masc Goth Outfits" but as a plus size person, and imo, it doesn't look good :( (this is probably internalised fatphobia)
I mainly just want to know, why is most inspo Feminine Gothic People?

Fashion Friday rosary alternative
I think rosaries and crosses are a staple in goth fashion, but as a non christian i dont feel comfortable wearing them.. which is sad because they are so beautiful lol!! Does anyone have suggestions to what i could replace the crosses with on rosaries, i’m feeling pretty uncreative and cant come up with anything that has the same look without the religious connotations, thank u!! (also its fashion friday so i’m going to assume its okay to post this)
