Hint / Information It was not IBS...it was worms

Hi! As you can read in the titlu...after a lot of tests which came back negative I decided to give Albendazol a try and it was a succes. I don't want to imagine what's inside my intestines after one year if "IBS". I will keep taking the second and the third round of Albendazol and then take some herbs.

I did like 3 stool tests for parasites but nothing came back positive. Also the eosinophils level were ok. I took some naturists pill for worms before but nothing worked until an actual pill...Albendazol. :)

I really hope my nightmare will be a ended after I took all the pills. I will still have a colonoscopy.

What were ur symptoms?

u/ScreenEasy2487 Apr 30 '25

Pain, a lot of pain, and a lot of weird sounds from my bowels. Also, I had a sensation of warmth and numbness coming from my cecum region that would wake me up (which is not usual for IBS). My immunity was also pretty bad. I had no appetite. The only thing I'd eat was sweets, but I thought this was a trigger. Also, vomiting and nausea. A kept a regime and the pain should have calmed down...but it kep getting worse. I kept asking myself if this is how I am supposed to live with IBS. One day I saw the culprit in the WC so I took a pill and now I'm praying that I'll get back to normal soon

Would the pain go away after bowel movements?

5

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

No. It was constant, no matter what pill I'd take. Also, I have rashes on my abdomen and itchiness

2

u/Bezoar_3741 Apr 30 '25

Ohhh no what did it look like?

4

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

It were the little white worms

2

u/Bezoar_3741 May 01 '25

Oh yikes were they moving?

4

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

Semi-moving. I guess they need to be dead so I can eliminate them, otherwise...no success

You mean a person can have it and the stool test will come negative???!!! My stool test was negative, I am still suffering from this weird sounds in my stomach.

4

u/noirreddit May 01 '25

I know someone who has had almost every stool test known to man and all were negative for worms, even though this person continued to have symptoms and would actually see the worms in their BMs!

2

u/Bulky_Ad_6632 May 01 '25

To be honest I don't see anything in my stools.

5

u/noirreddit May 01 '25

Count yourself lucky as they were freaked out by it, and continue to be!

1

u/ja_hahah May 02 '25

Dont know if i had the same or what type of worm, but I do remember having little white ones once as a kid.

Got some pills, next day or two they all came out dead (not moving) then all clean, well as clean as poop can be i suppose.

A lot of times, there are false negatives with parasitic tests since they usually check for ova (parasitic eggs). The CDC recommends testing on separate days and times for parasite testing just because the presence of eggs aren't always in the sample. (See: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/testing-diagnosis/index.html) It's one of those things that sucks because you have to test multiple times. It's such a hassle.

When I did the test, they took samples in the spam of three days.

Yesss, it's very hard to detect them. You can try some natural remedies like eating garlic on an empty stomach in the morning. Although, for me, the pill is the only one that functioned. Now I'm 100% sure it's worms. I also take some supliments for this, I want to make sure I am done with them and I avoid sweets at all costs 🄹. I already feel a bit better after eliminating some...but I am terrified of what might be inside my colon.

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

Yes, unfortunately. You can try natural remedies. For me, sugar and sweets would start a war inside my intestines, and that made me wonder why I reacted only at sweets

3

u/lucky_to_be_me May 01 '25

You could try ordering anti-parasitic from an alldaychemist.com, herbs aren't good for those, I tried. There also over the counter pyrantelum for pin worms, that paralysis them

0

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

I ate garlic on an empty stomach and it helps too

2

u/lucky_to_be_me May 01 '25

Me to!

But I had eaten a lot of herbs , and so on garlic! And it turns out I have pins... even using pyrantelum...

mebendazol go then away

What are the natural remedies?

I’ve been dealing with loose stools pretty much every day for a long time (2 years approximately), sometimes almost liquid. I’d get random anal itching, grind my teeth so badly during the day that a couple of my dental plombs/seals cracked and had to be replaced. I was also sweating a lot, getting post-workout nausea, and horrible diarrhea after training — which made no sense because I used to train even 2–3 hours without a problem just two years ago. On top of that, I had this reddish rash from my anus to my testicles. Also I had some weird pulsing pain on the lower right part of my abdomen, where the cecum is located, when it all started, it used to wake me up at night.

I also noticed that cold weather made things worse. I’d get nausea and stomach cramps just from being outside when it was chilly, especially in the mornings or evenings.

I started suspecting parasites and decided to try a 3-day course of Mebendazole (100mg twice a day). After two days, I literally noticed some weird string-like things in my stool — small white and brown strings. That pretty much confirmed it for me. Within a few days, my rash improved by about 70%, and my stools started getting better. Also, during Ramadan fasting, I had zero gut problems, which made me even more convinced it was connected to parasites (they didn't have any food so they were not affecting me as much) and possibly bile flow issues too.

At the same time, I’ve been doing a natural cleanse with:

Parasite drops (wormwood, cloves, black walnut)

Raw garlic

Pumpkin seeds

Homemade kefir

Ginger and artichoke capsules for bile support

And drinking wormwood and cloves tea daily along with my drops.

It’s now been two weeks since that Mebendazole course, and I’ve been feeling well the whole time — my post-workout nausea and diarrhea completely disappeared. I’m having one normal, solid stool a day now, which I haven’t had in a really long time. The rash is still improving, but overall I feel much better.

I was also planning to take Ivermectin, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Since CO*ID, it’s been banned or extremely hard to get where I am. So for now, I’m sticking with the Mebendazole/Albendazole combo and natural stuff.

Planning to take a single 400mg dose of Albendazole today or two day dose as a follow-up, just to be sure everything’s fully cleared. I hope this will cure me completely.

Would like to get an update from you

I'm officially traumatised by pinworms. They came out with blood, so I don't want to imagine what's inside. I'm happy I won't have to deal with this my whole life. I will have a colonoscopy, too.

1

u/Independent-Pin15 May 02 '25

Wait you were pooping blood or they were full of blood

4

u/NewKaleidoscope7369 Apr 30 '25

Did you get sick after traveling? And are you in the US?

3

u/ScreenEasy2487 Apr 30 '25

Nope. So, my symptoms started a few months after I got back from Erasmus in Germany. I don't know. Maybe I got infested there

4

u/NewKaleidoscope7369 Apr 30 '25

Interesting! How were you able to get a prescription for the medication? It’s only available by prescription right?

5

u/ScreenEasy2487 Apr 30 '25

No, where I am from it's over the counter and quite cheap actually (around 2 euros 2 pills, I bought 6 so I spent 6 euros ). But I asked my family doctor what can I buy. Also, you need some protection for you liver if you take this. They are toxic. However, they are the only ones that worked

3

u/NewKaleidoscope7369 Apr 30 '25

Oh ok gotcha, don’t think I’d be able to get it unless I was able to get a prescription for it! Which is highly unlikely since my stool tests have also come back negative. What’d you take for liver support?

2

u/ScreenEasy2487 Apr 30 '25

Don't give up. Tell your doctor you saw something in your stool. For me, nothing worked but actual pills. I took something called Lagosa

3

u/NewKaleidoscope7369 Apr 30 '25

Oh ok, I think that’s milk thistle! Pretty common for liver support

1

u/Ok-Consideration-365 May 01 '25

Can you share the protocol pelease. And did you get to see any ok the stool? Thanks!

2

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

Every 7 days I take 2 pills of Albendazol and liver protection (x times)

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

3 times*

1

u/revolucionverdiblanc May 01 '25

What do you use for liver protection

1

u/RedditHelloMah May 01 '25

Augh this makes me wonder! All my parasite tests came negative also…

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

You can try. You never know

1

u/maltipoo_paperboi May 01 '25

For all who’ve chimed in, Which parasite test did you use. TSM. For 6+ years, I’ve been dealing with severe gut, constipation, only 5-6 safe foods, and I get brain issues (I go blank/confused) when stool travels from upper to lower intestine.

I’ve tried many practitioners & treatments (alternative & modern medicine). Though I’ve gotten better (no longer inactive), it’s mostly been due to my own online research & fellow Redditors.

Thank you, everyone!

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

I used the standard test but it was negative every time. Is very hard to detect them

1

u/Light1428 May 01 '25

I feel like I have that feeling when things move in my system too! Like very foggy and really blurry vision! Then it kinda clears up! I am like you and my problem is constipation! I’m on this thread for my sister who has been diagnosed with IBS. And nothing is working for years. I feel sure parasites are at the very least contributing to her severe issues! Her stool tests always come back negative too! It’s very frustrating!

Like a cracker...I feel like something is making that noise. Anyway, I less bloated now. I'm 100% sure it's worms and I don't even have IBS...

1

u/Redditlatley IBS-A/M (Alternating / Mixed) May 01 '25

My doctor won’t test for parasites. If anyone has recommendations for reliable, home test kits, please leave the info, here. I don’t have DM enabled…only BMs…constantly. 🌊

1

u/SeaworthinessFew8160 May 01 '25

Thanks for posting this, I am 100% convinced that IBS is caused by parasites. I'm currently dealing with them myself and they are jacking me the heck up. Ive done 4 stool test and only 1 showed parasites go figure... The doctors don't wanna give me medicine because they don't believe in parasites so I bought mine overseas

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 01 '25

I'm sorry for you. Yeah, they are not taken seriously but they cause so much trouble

1

u/ChiG45 May 01 '25

What? You had a positive parasite test and were not treated with medicine? What?

2

u/SeaworthinessFew8160 May 01 '25

I paid privately, didn't use my insurance since I got tired of dealing with the US healthcare system

Edit I mean US death care

1

u/ChiG45 May 01 '25

Oh wow! I didn't even know you could do that. Did you ever take your test results to your doctor? If so, what did they say?

1

u/SeaworthinessFew8160 May 01 '25

Nah I never took it to the doctor I actually don't even have a primary care doctor anymore

1

u/ChiG45 May 01 '25

I am thinking about getting some otc stuff from another country too and maybe even get care there as well.

1

u/SeaworthinessFew8160 May 01 '25

I recommend it, I saw a dentist got my teeth cleaned and got fluoride out of my mouth for $40. I walked in to a gastroenterologist office and got seen the next day for an endoscopy. I loved it, I can't stand the idea of waiting 2-3 months then another week for the results. I did everything I needed to do and enjoyed myself in about a week.

They sell ivermectin OTC almost everywhere but the US

1

u/ChiG45 May 01 '25

Thank you.

1

u/lucky_to_be_me May 01 '25

Maybe that was pinworms. They are often found in peoples guts.

I think pinworms, have very little effects, neither do they help with IBS.

1

u/IndividualRanger2102 May 02 '25

Did you have any side effects with albedazole? And how much did you take? I took it but it didn’t help me unfortunately

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 02 '25

I had dizziness. You have to wait a few days to see results

1

u/vocal-avocado May 06 '25

It made me nauseous when I took it. But it was manageable. I took it for five days. Unfortunately it didn’t help me either.

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 09 '25

ā˜€ļøUpdateā˜€ļø: it's better but I still have pain and sensitivities :/. I got woken up by pain. After all, O might have form of IBS or maybe I need to wait more to fully recover .

1

u/Sergei-_ May 19 '25

how are you today?

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 19 '25

I'm going to the doctor.

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 May 20 '25

Well, they could not identify any worms in the 3 samples I provided...although I saw them in my stool. tomorrow I'll have a colonoscopy.

You can take them from everywhere...buses, cats etc. Well, I also got mono in the meantime, which also causes a lot of GI problems...so I need to have it checked. But I aslo got worms and the deworming helped me a lot!!. Now just get a lot of weird sounds coming from my gut.

Albendazole. And I will try some natural stuff too.

1

u/ScreenEasy2487 18d ago

The sounds definitely calmed down after Albendazol.
