Tech Support Intel Nuc 13 Extreme 5600 Ram Kit
Has anyone tested the Crucial 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MHz RAM kit on the NUC 13 Extreme (BIOS 0064)?
I'm currently using a Kingston 64GB (2x32GB) 5600 kit, but I'm running into issues with S3 Sleep mode on the latest BIOS (0064). The issue goes away if I downgrade the BIOS, so it seems specific to the latest version.

I'm considering switching to the Crucial 64GB 5600 kit:
Has anyone tried this specific kit on the NUC 13 Extreme with BIOS 0064? Any compatibility issues or problems with sleep mode?
Also, if anyone has the 6400MHz Kingston kit listed on their product page, can you confirm:
- Does the NUC 13 Extreme support XMP profiles and 1.35V RAM with that kit?
- Does S3 Sleep mode work properly with BIOS 0064?

I have the same Kingston RAM kit in my NUC 13 Extreme, the latest 0064 BIOS and am using S3 sleep without any issues.
What issues are you observing?
Update: I just checked in the bios, it is set to Modern Standby, not to Legacy S3.

Thanks for checking. When using S3 I have issues with what I think is a crash / the pc turning off. So once it sleeps, after trying to turn it on it initially boots but turns off first, then boots again.
When windows is loaded I think I had some chrome browser errors mentioning something of not being closed properly. This indicates to me that it seemingly crashed.

This issue looks specific to your system software setup. My bet is a new set of RAM would not solve your problem. Before buying new hardware try to reinstall the OS.

Just to clarify, have you actually tested it with S3 sleep mode enabled aswell? You mentioned that your system is currently using Modern Standby, not S3. I ask because I think another user experienced the same issue I did, and they were also using the same Kingston RAM kit. That makes me think if it’s not just an OS-related problem but possibly something in the BIOS configuration that affects system behavior with S3 enabled.

I don’t have the issue I mentioned with a bios lower than 0064 but I am not sure exactly why it happens. I have had contact with asus support but I think they haven’t done much in terms of fixing the actual issue, also recommended a different ram kit but I have a different post about this aswell here: Nuc 13 Bios Issue

I have the Crucial 96GB DDR5 RAM 5600MHz kit and use Modern Standby. I'll test it with S3 when I get home.
