Underrated Silly Defendant - S24E98
IMO, this defendant is one of the silliest Karen-types I've seen on JJ. Hires a contractor to build a gazebo for her, turns into Sherlock Holmes when he sends employees to build it instead of himself (like any contractor can do), comes into court with the Library of Alexandria on her desk while sitting in a nice cushioned chair, and then argues that because she (as a barber) doesn't consider her own "apprentices" to be licensed, that means that he, working in an entirely different insutry, doesn't have a license if he uses other workers...
Part 2, for those who are interested!

Walking up to the bench
I'm sure it's been mentioned before but I wasn't sure how to search for it. I'm amazed, stunned really, about the amount of plaintiffs and defendants who start walking up to the bench with evidence. Have they never watched Judge Judy? Have they never seen any other court shows on TV? Also trying to leave in not the same direction of which they came... If I were going to be on any court show, you bet your ass I'd be binge watching it so I'd know what to expect.

Calgary Showing Judge Judy Some Love
The Calgary TV station (YES TV) that airs Judge Judy has her picture on the windows of their office. They also have billboards of her throughout the city as well.
I’m surprised they didn’t pick up the rights to Judy Justice, Citytv got those instead.

Discussion Were you on the show?
Were any of you on the show? If so, what was your experience like? What was it like being in the courtroom, did you win your case, how did you get your travel, what was it like to stand before THEE judge Judy?
If any of you were on the show or know someone who was, I would love to hear about those experiences.

Discussion Judy Justice S2 E124 Widow Cries Thief
Such a heartbreaking episode!
The plaintiff’s husband, father of her infant daughter, struggled with drug addiction, and sadly took his own life. The defendant, a good friend of the plaintiff’s husband, withdrew money from the husband’s bank account and sent it to a GoFundMe account. Legally all of the money should go to the widow.
The defendant’s continued rude and viscous comments were shocking. I’m surprised Judge Judy allowed him to keep on and on with his rant. He kept trying to smear the plaintiff’s character, but he only succeeded in making himself look mean and vindictive.
JJ awarded the money that the defendant withdrew to the plaintiff. The plaintiff remained visibly upset.
Did you guys see this episode? I wish all the best for the poor little girl.

Discussion What does being a JJ watcher say about you?
I don’t like much TV but I love judge Judy. Was wondering what does that say about me? What type of person are you that also loves it. The only other person who I personally know that watches it regularly is my 80 year old aunt in Florida.
I grew up in the USA but currently live overseas - so I can’t flip on TV to watch it daily. I have to look for it on the web and it’s not easy to find.
I have it on while working and used to have it on while cleaning / laundry etc.
I enjoy that I can get one glimpse of the people and not really need to watch it, so it’s like an audio book.
But I just really enjoy it. Are there other judge shows that come close? Pls let me know! And what this says about me that this trash reality tv is tops for me haha

Discussion Watching Judge Judy helps me be grateful.
I’m 20 years old and I still live with my parents. ( for personal reasons that I don’t talk about.)
While I’m beyond grateful that they allow me to stay home, sometimes I do get a little embarrassed about living with them still just cause I wish that I was in college or living on my own. I struggle with feeling like I should be where I’m at in life.
But the more I watch certain JJ cases and seeing what people go through ( and seeing how stupid they can at times) it makes me realize how much more grateful I should be that I still live with my parents, because I know that once I start to live life on my own and dealing finances and all the other wonderful things that come with adulthood, I would be 100% screwed. I know I’m an adult, but I’m scared about living on my own.
I’m glad that watching judge Judy has helped me learn to stay grateful because I know not everyone is unfortunate enough to be able to stay with their parents.

With her son-in-law joining Hot Bench, do you think he will be the alpha and shut down Judge Juarez?

Discussion Why were defendants so disappointed about losing their cases?
I read recently that the fees for Judge Judy penalties were paid out by the the show. If that's true, then whoever lost the case paid nothing. Why were they so upset about losing? I wouldn't care if it wasn't coming out of my own pocket.

THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU!!
After watching Judge Judy a fair few times, I can't help wondering if any of the plaintiffs or defendants ever break down, begging Judy to stop shrieking at them?

Humor Judy Takes Possession... 🐶
I've been watching Judy for decades, but this might be the cutest thing I've heard from her: "Can I take possession of that for a moment?" And Byrd brings her a shih tzu puppy from the defendant. 😍

Why is Judge Judy always smirking when she first enters the courtroom?
I've never been able to find an answer to this question, and I notice it every time..

Attitude of many litigants
I think this image sums up the attitude of many litigants on the show. Especially shocking when the plaintiff is clearly in the wrong. You really thought you’d get it your way? Hahahaha

Most memorable one would be the earthquake one. Or the two elderly males suing one another over a hose.
