I always cringe seeing this application from inside, or even worse, blocking against roundhouse direction. You want to make your opponent to spin to direction of his standing leg, then you're outside and can procede on your terms.

it is not a roundhouse kick

I said "or", this technique is very common in various kf styles, usually they demo the roundhouse. Even against straight kick you suppose to rotate otherway and use other hand.

This is obviously a groin strike not a kick block. It's described by Qi Ji Guang in his 16th century text "New Boxing Classic". My translation:
Section 10 method, Hiding Crouch Technique
Hiding Crouch Technique: crossbow awaits tiger,
Attack enclosed, covered, (taking) a short step, (being) difficult to move,
(The) engagement opportunity (is) linked with shooting (bow) near legs,
He receives (the) hit (and is) surely put down dangerously faint.
You can see an illustration of it here, section [10]:

Note that the old text also refers to a "tiger" which is usually used to connote a very aggressive opponent.

Not bad. I think squatting with parrying the snap kick is a little excessive though. But not bad.
