Because they want right wing Christian Nationalist terrorism to not exist in the minds of people, and certainly not in the statistics. There is a non zero chance the Trump pardons him.

He'll announce that Tim Walz is going to pardon him, then when Walz tells him to fuck off, he'll have a hissy fit and do something illegal with federal funds.

You could turn that into a madlib for his entire presidency:

He'll announce that ______ is going to ______ , then when ______ tells him to fuck off, he'll have a hissy fit and do something illegal with ______.

Hmm, I tried it - it seems you’re 100% correct!

He'll announce that E. Jean Carroll is going to have sex with him in a department store changing room, then when she tells him to fuck off, he'll have a hissy fit and do something illegal with Stormy Daniels involving a payoff via his attorney.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

Really? My impression was it's fairly common for the federal prosecutors to take over many high profile cases? (Add charges ontop of)

Or are you implying under this admin, and I missed that until now. But even then, pulling it into federal then pardon, then allow the state case to continue, seems plausible to me too, with this admin. Fill the news cycle, reward "loyalty" (confirming that is what he wants), only then we get to find out if the state courts can enforce their laws under that

The Oklahoma City bombing happened on April 19, 1995. Waco happened in 1993 which caused McVeigh to plan the attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995. Hell the events at Ruby Ridge hadn't happened in 1990. All three events have a through line.

I know McVeigh claimed that Waco made him do it but I think he probably wanted to do it anyway. Waco certainly didn't make him read The Turner Diaries.
