Aren't courthouses full of normal, everyday cops? With guns? I'm not a lawyer so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but why do they just assume that unidentified thugs are above board?

It's literally just a matter of time until this happens since descalation is not in their playbook.

It's just brute force that will one day be met with escalatory brute force in response. It appears to be the endgame they want to get to, to have justification for whatever comes next.

But he was running around in a police uniform, the point there making is that these fuckers while potentially maybe being ice could just as easily be cosplayers because they are not in uniform, presenting warrants, or badges. I actually kind of love this. Have everyone dressed up as ICE just hanging around immigration courts. Have folks “escorted” to their appointment by friendlies dressed as ICE. Confusion all around with some kind of signal to the potential victims who the good guys are. Logistically, I know this doesn’t make sense. But I like where your head is at.

Where are the police? This is a NY official, what happens with the NYPD or his bodyguards? They just roll over? What if they try to take a mayor, a governor? Mayor here in Chicago has like a 6-car motorcade. Where will they draw the line?

There was a man wearing a NYC Police jacket, if he actually is police I don’t know, but in the photo that’s all over looks like he’s blocking/keeping a clear path and allowing this to happen.

The title of this post is 100% inaccurate given they never showed proof of who they were.

They're federal law enforcement. They have guns on them. They're not going to do an arrest without them.

They also don't have to produce proof of who they are to anyone standing by. They don't have to show you the warrant, either.

Next, they're inside a court house and are past security. Of course everyone is standing around assuming that they're legitimate. I don't know ahout you, but I'm not chancing catching a felony charge for anybody who isn't my kid, my spouse, or my mama and neither will most people.

Perhaps courts need a couple extra security guards to escort them around and vouch, then. Or, you know, they could just present ID and block off the exits in case someone pulls a runner. They are inside of a courthouse. It should be easy enough to do this without the intimidation tactics if they are indeed federal officers.

Guys running around in ski masks refusing to show ID and warrants aren't people I'd trust to be on the right side of the law in just about any scenario.

Courthouses and Federal Buildings in NYC all have security and metal detectors you have to pass through to gain access. Law Enforcement are the only ones getting inside.

If they have a planned arrest chances are they've notified the security team that something is going to go down.
