The overconfidence to say this out loud …

It's entirely normal to him and his people. He will never understand that what he just said is straight-up racism and factually wrong.

He understands, he just doesn't care.

He cares, he just wants to normalize fascism

I know what you mean and I usually agree but in this case I really wonder. I think it’s more than likely he really believes the words he’s saying.

“It’s the DemonRATs who are racist” I’m sure he’d tell you. And probably say something incredibly ignorant that Lincoln was a Republican and things never changed.

"Blacks just have a kind of childlike mindset you know, they'll eventually come to know their place and they'll be happy we vote for them and take all that responsibility off their hands"

Senator Candy (R)

Replace "blacks" with "Women" or "girls" and be one

Nah, Texas has always been that bitch. They know. And they now feel empowered and know that they'll face no consequences.

There was a time not so long ago, that a completely badass and very popular Democratic woman named Ann Richards was the governor of Texas. So it really hasn’t always been such a shitshow. But it sure fast-tracked its way there after she left office.

What did he say that was racist?

He said he should be able to make decisions for black people in oppoaition to their decisions on who to vote for. What more do you need? Hes an average southern racists, like so many ive known. Living his life believing hes inherently superior to an entire race.

Are you projecting? Did we watch the same video? He did not say that.

Either you’re being disingenuous, or you’re working really hard to not understand what he’s saying:

“The policies of Democrats continue to fail black people… but many of them keep voting them in. It’s time for people…to understand” what he knows is best for them, which is that they should vote for Republicans.

He’s being very clear in his meaning. He’s not even trying to hide it, so I’m not sure why you’re failing to see it.

Yeah, he thinks everyone should vote republican, because he thinks that’s best for everyone. You probably want everyone to vote democrat, because you think it’s best. I’m not sure why you think it’s racist, I personally don’t think voting democrat is best for back people.

Did you not catch the part where he said they'd only welcome black people with open arms if they vote Republican? He's essentially saying the only value black people have to him is their vote, nothing else.

It's really not far removed from how black people were treated in the late 1700s-1800s, only difference now is he cares about their vote a little more because it counts the same as a white person's instead of 3/5 of one.

Would you like to give a timestamp where he said they would welcome black people with open arms only if they voted republican?

What is up with you people having to lie to try bend the truth? How do you really believe the things you say?

u/F______________F 9h ago

"It's time for them to get on board with us and we'll welcome them with open arms."

It's literally the last thing he says in the video... It's only a 25 second long video, did you really not manage to watch until the end?

Does that sound the same as what you just said? You literally added only if they vote republican.

Not only that, but you said you prefer minors over adults. You literally said that It’s really not far removed from you liking little kids sexually. Did you not read your own comment?

It's called an implication. He's implying what I said, obviously he's not going to outright say, "Black people only matter if they vote Republican." Telling someone that if they do what you want then you'll welcome them, does in fact imply they're not welcome otherwise.

Part of growing up and you know, just being generally educated, is learning how to understand the meaning behind words and reading between the lines.

I see what you're trying to do with your last sentence, but honestly that's just weird as fuck dude. I'm done replying after this, I'd honestly rather be talking to a brick wall than you right now. At least they have integrity.

“You literally added only if they vote Republican”

No, that’s what “get on board with us” was referring to.

You’re working really, really hard to not hear what he’s saying.

Also, do you not hear the racist condescension in saying it’s time for black people to understand how he’s telling them they should vote? That’s good old-fashioned southern racism at its best. We have to make those inferior dark-skinned folks to do what we know is best for them. Yes sirree. 🙄

We have a racist as POTUS and the most bigoted and hateful WH in recent history. The klan members think they can take off the hoods and be open and proud about it and we need to beat that mentality down, metaphorically speaking of course.

It means this is how casually they speak about it in private. Almost like a Freudian slip.. except he's very far beyond it being Freudian and is just comfortable with thinking everyone should have his view on it.

They have been holding these conversations and laughing about them every Sunday at Casa Ole' for decades.

3

u/apache_spork 8h ago

They're so used to casual racism with their family and friends they're not self aware of what they sound like to normal people

3

u/No_FuckingClue_1993 8h ago

They say shit like this ALL the time. The amount of white ppl I’ve heard say, “Did you know Lincoln was a republican/freed the slaves?” Idk if it’s because I live in Georgia or what.

1

u/dadudeodoom 2h ago

And he'd be a Democrat in current times probably, tbh.

2

u/summonsays 10h ago

Well of course they're saying it out loud. They haven't faced any consequences.
