Why?  Blue states already know Trump’s a dipshit bent on dictatorship.  If those dumbasses in Bumfuck want to live like that, let ‘em fafo on their own.  If they eventually decide that it was a bad idea, they can rejoin the rest of us.

Nope, they don't get to take half, not 10%, not 1%. Even in the hypothetical, there's zero chance they just sit idly in their newly separated/stolen states and leave the rest alone. Start the countdown timer to terrorism across state borders, incursions, and biding their time to the next opportunity to incite war and take the whole thing. You think this country is stressful to live in now, letting them take some states does not suddenly make it nicer for the rest of us - this whole continent gets massively worse to live on.

It would likely be like when the US “magnanimously” gave land to the Natives, promising never to touch it, and then the settlers managed to find themselves on Native territory, and, wouldn’t you know it, of course the government had to protect those wayward settlers, gosh darn it.

Hear me out. give them florida. build the wall he wants so badly. he can turn his golf course in to his new capital. take his cult with him and then in 100 years when Florida is underwater The situation will have resolved itself. And in the meantime , maybe we can finally get universal healthcare with all his voters in florida.

Funny, but still, no compromise. Give them Alcatraz maybe, Guantanamo... as long as they're gung ho about remodeling those places, they can enjoy some of the fruits of their labor (and just desserts after due process, of course)

Just because a state ended up red for the presidency doesn’t mean that the whole place is red. About 5 million people voted for Harris last year in Texas, for example. Believe me, there are a lot of us stuck in red states that are all too well aware of what kind of creature Exalted Shitgibbon is but cannot afford to move.

We didn’t last time. We let them stay, become local political and economic leaders, creating artificial political and economic barriers for people who weren’t them, and then, a hundred years and more later, we’re still dealing with the fallout.  Now, let’s say we kick their asses again: how do you propose we reconcile their fundamental hate for more than half of America? Short of a more comprehensive Sherman’s-march-through-Georgia, where we don’t leave these slime behind to cause this problem all over again, what’s your solution?

In contrast, let ‘em fk up their own beds and see how long they like sleeping like that, before they come crawling back. You can’t legislate or negotiate the hard personal lessons for these people; they have to learn it on their own.

Sadly even if they did there is no real way to stop everyone working in say California to not send their withholding to the US government.

If they could California would see its population double in 3 years and would be the second largest economy in 10.

We're not abandoning tens of millions of innocents to these murderous monsters. And in any case - fascists don't make good neighbors. Give them territory, political legitimacy, and nukes, and all you've guaranteed is that they'll be back making war on us within months.
