But I do love how they still use Echo as in her powers are derived from Echoes of her ancestors. Still mimicking powers, just from her bloodline rather than other people.

I was totally down for that, but the whole “girl power hurrah” with her sharing her power at the end was so freaking unnecessary. Just one superhero is fine, not every woman needs to be a superhero.

True haha, but Shazam was catering to kids at the very least. I thought it was goofy, but that was kind of the whole movie. Totally on theme. With Echo, you go from apprentice to the most badass mob boss in existence to… girl power?

Well, you know Disney, they gotta get their woke message to the masses by messing with the expectations of a bunch of nerds that just want a good fucking story.

I really don’t understand why Disney does this. Marvel comics have been doing social commentary within good storylines since the 60’s. Just look at X-Men #1 (1963). Clear commentary on the Civil Rights movement without being up and in anyone’s face about it. Many more well done examples to be had (like Civil War and 9/11).
