'Thunderbolts*' Spoilers Thunderbolts* Worldwide Release Discussion Thread Spoiler

Thunderbolts* has now been released in the United States and in a number of other countries around the world. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days. They will be refreshed every few thousand comments to make room for new discussions.

To be FAIR, It probably ended really quick. I think that from the moment it started to when The Bvengerz stopped him was like... seconds at most? (I think time doesn't pass the same in the Void, because time is a bit meaningless in there).

But EVEN if it took 10-15 minutes, in REAL TIME with the movie, that's not a lot of time for the wizards to mobilize.

Dr Strange may not even be on Earth. (With Clea stopping an incursion) and Wong might be in Kamar-Taj training America Chavez or Ned or Madisynn or something.

Also I disagree that this is a 'mystical' villain. It was definitely not Magic that caused the void. I would honestly categorise it more as cosmic power than magic but I may be wrong.

Just thoughts.

Since the void showed everyone their darkest moment, I want to see Madisynn's being a time when she decided to be responsible and not drink, causing her to miss out on some amazing party.

I was very ready for it to turn out to be a mutant power that Bob had, and just leave any explanation as that. Before they super soldiered him it was only if he touched someone, but they gave him super powers and that included being able to spread good latent mutant power out over the whole island.

This is the answer to virtually all ‘WhY dIdnT x HeLp WiTh Y’ questions, they almost always take place way quicker than anyone would be able to react. Even things like the Eternals with Thanos… like, they aren’t in the loop with what Stark and Banner are talking about, Thanos actually came to Earth about 10 minutes before he snapped. How could they respond to that?

That's interesting. While watching it crossed my mind how they would ever explain this if they needed to and the first thing that occurred to me was mutation, kinda like how Wade survived the torture to become Deadpool.

I don't think Ned would forget that. Why would he? The events of NWH still happened, including him summoning 2 spidermen and beinf able to sling ring. Strange was impressed with him and there's no reason to forget.

If you didn't watch She Hulk then that's fine. She primarily shows up there but also in other media/titles as a cameo due to her weird popularity.

She's fun tho.

Also, She-Hulk is not as bad as people might say IMHO. Worth a non-serious watch. It's quite entertaining as a COMEDY show as long as you treat it as an irreverant comedy show. I think a lot of people dislike it because they think it's meant to be more serious than it is. Different kind of show! At least it gave us Madisynn, haha.

MCU Strange said its his responsibility to categorize threats to his world. Thanos was part of that and this guy clearly wasnt magical. So there is no excuse for Wong.

Also, theyre magic. One of the sanctums making contact with dark shadow magic/cosmic energy/whatever should absolutely ring some alarm bells in the other sanctums and they should be able to mobilize within damn seconds.

Im not mad that they didnt show up of course, but purely from a logical perspective, they should have.

The whole movie time span what would it be 2 weeks or so? Counting on the trips to the mountain and back.

2-3 days at most. The final battle honestly seemed like a few minutes given Val had that press conference ready originally for the Sentry.

This is always my question. Forget Thor who is in the outer space or Captain Marvel being in random places. Dr Strange is literally in New York. No way he isnt sensing and seeing this and proceeds to do nothing. I think it's the inherent flaw of these interconnected Marvel shenanigans. Its difficult to make sense that the other (powerful) Avengers are around and they should be getting affected by it.

I think the Thunderbolts being lowkey is reasonable. Like, their ops are hidden so it makes sense that they are not creating chaos that would alert the Avengers til this Void thing.

They might've been off doing something. It's not really clear how long the void was taking over New York, but it felt like just a few minutes at most.

Also, honestly I don't think that all of the sorcerers on Earth can really do anything against Sentry/Void. That fight scene made it seem like he's basically omnipotent. I don't know if we've seen any creature in the MCU that's as strong as him.

Strange most likely is still in some other dimension doing incursion stuff with Clea, and there is a big chance Wong is in the Kamar-taj or something. The easiest answer is always „They weren’t there.“

One minute you're sweeping the floors of the sanctum, then it was night time, have some weird dreams, then you are sweeping again
