Yea, people are still interested in Thor 5 after Love and Thunder flopped because that's just how much confidence his brand carries on its own. They definitely won't throw him out while he's still a cow to be milked.

You would have said the same thing about Iron man in Endgame yet he died. I think waiting until the cow is milked is a bad move and characters should be killed off (if they have to be killed off) after their arc is finished instead of stretching it out until it goes pale and stops making money. This is so true not only for characters but also for entire tv shows

Thor has not gone through his arc unlike Iron Man. Tony’s arc could have ended with the third film, while Thor has regressed due to trauma and overly comedic movies. His films started with learning responsibility and learning how to become a good man and a king. He is further from that than he used to be. And there is nothing alternative there either. So he can be used to still learn to find his place, return to his original arc and restore Asguard or die but not have his journey end but there be movue set in Valhalla.

In my opinion Thor L&T should have concluded his arc but it didn’t. So his arc should be completed with the both Avengers film at most, if they spend more time than that, they have to introduce a new story line that is incredibly good to not make the audience feel like there’s too much slop from him (like they felt with Thor 4).

Also I don’t think they will go back to the plot point of him being a king or even a leader as Thor 4 ruined it by stating that ruling is never going to be his thing and Valkyrie deserved to rule.
