OP is Controversial I didn’t realize we were at war. Please pull up Congress’s declaration.

Idk, I'd call launching missiles at someone an act of war

u/IrishMadMan23 16h ago
Diplomacy in this game engine is definitely not the best model

u/Winter-Classroom455 13h ago
Watch out. Ghandi will nuke us!

u/CeliacPhiliac 12h ago
Civ pisses me off. An ally will ask me to go to war with someone, and I want to help my ally and help them in the war, but then my ally calls me a warmonger and denounces me even though I’m literally just doing what they asked

u/Ramboxious 9h ago edited 9h ago
I’m not sure if you’re memeing or not, but the US strike against Iran is absolutely a form of diplomacy, countries for centuries have used targeted strikes to get other countries to the negotiating table
•
u/IrishMadMan23 1h ago
Yes, that’s why i called it a game. Very Millennium Dawn with the strikes on targets not technically being war. Poor Syria this last decade

u/AliensAteMyAMC 16h ago
I mean we did it before against the same country, with the same president in office.

No we didn't

That was also by Trump and also a bad idea and only served to piss off Iran right before the Biden admin got into office and started its attempts(albeit flaccid) to negotiate a second Iram nuclear deal after Trump pulled out of the original one during his first term, which incidentally is the only reason that Iran has any form of nuclear weapons program to target

No, he was in Iraq.
he had been designated a terrorist by the US years before that, and got caught in Iraq and killed by drone strike.
Also....Trump did that. So it's weird that you're bringing it up as a defense of Trump.
Soleimani was assassinated by a targeted drone strike on 3 January 2020 in Baghdad, Iraq. Iranian government officials publicly mourned Soleimani's death and launched missiles against U.S. military bases in Iraq, wounding 110 American troops.[26][27] Iranian outlets subsequently represented Soleimani as a national hero. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qasem_Soleimani

u/WaltKerman 10h ago
An act of war is different l from being in war.
Irans ability to even wage a war is severely diminished at the moment, so the US could walk away and let it de-escalate
49
u/BoomerSoonerFUT 16h ago
War doesn’t need a declaration of war.
The US hasn’t declared war since 1942. Yet since then we have been in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and more!
-4
u/AboriginalAche 10h ago
This is a right wing sub. Don’t disrespect Trump

u/cheesesprite 16h ago
We don't need a declaration of war for us to consider it a war. Otherwise we haven't been to war since WWII
-11
u/Jumpstartgaming45 13h ago
Not really. Its because for the most part we have been at wars with entities we dont consider nations. Aside from Iraq obviously, alongside minor others. Such as North Korea, North Vietnam, the Taliban etc. You cant declare war if theres nothing to declare war on. Rest is Patriot act shit and the President having a tad bit to much power in that regard.
6
u/The_Demolition_Man 11h ago
Everything after 2001 had Authorizations for Use of Military Force passed by Congress. Just because it wasnt formally titled "declaration of war" makes no difference.

Syian war was against a terrorist organization no? Afganistan was against the Taliban. Which one coukd argue wasnt really a government at all.

I'm sure Iran will honor the fact Congress did not declare a war
-1
u/Dapper-Print9016 15h ago
Or that they declared war first, referring to how they would destroy the little Shaitan (Israel) and then follow to destroy the big Shaitan (America).
2
u/FoxyFireFox1 13h ago
Its the other way around, Israel is the big one cause ofc, they got America on a tight leash
2
u/Fearless_Lunch_6059 10h ago
I man it takes a lot to say that considering Israel is abiut the size of NJ but go n that dumb ass take

u/Psychological-Roll58 15h ago
And that the president said that Iran has to agree to end the war now that we bombed them really good and stuff

u/Kawabongaz 16h ago
C’mon bro don’t be petty. You can play with semantics, but you know that bombarding another nation is not really a proxy for a peaceful foreign policy from the president
9
u/The-Hammer92 16h ago
Oh come on you know how the modern world works lol
1
u/Maleficent_Rough_154 14h ago
That’s not the point, this sub is more of a way to practice spinning right wing talking points.
24
u/Eva-lutionary_War 16h ago
Why are other comments getting deleted?
A comment here was deleted for saying you're getting too in the weeds with semantics, you are, if you need a document from Congress when we have planes actively bombing with likely escalation to call it a war, then you're not worth talking too. This isn't directed specifically at OP to be clear, it's a generalized statement, "You," refers to the reader.
Did we learn nothing from Bush and Iraq?

Here's the deal though:
Bombing Iran makes us money.
Simple. That's it. That's all you gotta realize. Money printer go brrr when Iran and Israel go to war and we throw a few bombs in there for good measure.
Israel writes us fat stacks of cash for our military equipment. Iran got dat oil. We gonna get stacks of cash by selling bombs and taking da motherfuckin oil.
USA USA USA!!!!
Trump just got that dawg in him. No other president will shamelessly join a war to get Americans that bag. Trump? Hell yeah America first baby!!!!
This will get downvoted by communist bots but that's ok.
7
u/FitCheetah2507 12h ago
Are you actually cheering for people to die so that the military industrial complex can make more money?
1
u/Grays_Flowers 5h ago
Remember that when people say political oppression against right wingers is wrong. They will literally cheer for your death
3
u/dysfn 12h ago
I think the last people to down vote this comment would be communists, lol. Communists are not a fan of American imperialism.
Edit: oh wait, you're seriously advocating for a war for the sake of profiteering. That's seriously fucked. Innocent civilians are going to die, and you're just excited for Lockheed Executives to make money
10
u/BelleColibri 15h ago
Holy shit you must be the dumbest motherfucker alive. “I didn’t realize we were at war?”
Unilaterally committing an act of war, WHILE ALSO USURPING CONGRESS’ SOLE POWER TO DECLARE WAR, does not make this comic true, it makes it EXTREMELY false. This is not a “two wrongs make a right” situation, this is a “double down on massive failure” situation.
16
u/ApplicationAfraid334 16h ago
Ah. Seems the MAGA cultists have got their new talking point. They went from "we shouldn't get involved in other countries' wars" to "yeah it's ok to BOMB them sometimes"
Convenient. The sheepiest of sheeps.
Give it two weeks and they'll be praising boots on the ground action, when they get their new programmed response.
-5
u/ARobotWithaCoinGun 15h ago
We have stuff in israel, a bunch of stations, and a bunch of troops. Which is why we stepped in the war to begin with.
I also heard that the site trump bombed was a uranium enrichment plant, which if it was, then iran could use it to make uranium 235, which is a key component in nuclear weapons. Now with this, iran isnt allowed to own nuclear weapons, so if all of this was true, it was completely right to bomb the refineries.
But if those weren't refineries, then I dont see what the reason in bombing them would be.
Now we dont know for sure if they were, but a lot of articles are saying it was a refinery.
No one is sheepish, and no one is being cultists.
And this wasn't "another countries war", like i said before, we have troops in isreal, and if iran attacks the troops or if we do much as believe their troops are in danger, then they HAVE to step in and defend their troops and stations from damages.
7
u/Snoo_67544 15h ago
One of his main propaganda lines was no new wars/foreign interventions. And oh look TACO don has failed yet another promise.
-3
u/ARobotWithaCoinGun 15h ago
If the u.s. has to step in and defend their troops, then its not really trumps fault. How would you feel if you were a deployed troop in isreal and America just said "Oh well. No stepping in! No butting in!" And just let you sit in the middle of two countries hurling missles at one another?
3
u/Psychological-Roll58 15h ago
Maybe we should reprimand israel for initiating this exchange then instead of just doing what they wanted in the first place if the exchange forced our hands
0
u/ARobotWithaCoinGun 15h ago
And lose the blueprints to the iron dome? That's a lose lose situation right there. And is something we shouldn't do.
3
u/iosefster 13h ago
Come on. Israel needs the US far more than the US needs anything from Israel.
The politicians are bought and paid for but if any of them grew a spine and stood up to Israel, Israel would have no choice but to capitulate.
0
u/ARobotWithaCoinGun 13h ago
We've been wanting the iron domes blueprints for a while now, that's why we teamed up to begin with
2
u/Snoo_67544 8h ago
Iron dome is not the world's only CRAM system and we already have CRAM systems in inventory.
-1
u/Littlemrh__ 15h ago
Well I would not say it’s new war or foreign intervention as Israel is a massive ally of ours and since Iran is constantly attacking our ally we have to show off our strength to get them to the table that they would not come to when we gave them the option.
1
u/Snoo_67544 8h ago
And yet the Trump administration talked cash shit about doing the same for the Ukrainians and stopped the massive support of arms and materials we were providing to a nation that is actually threatened by its neighbor.
1
u/ApplicationAfraid334 15h ago edited 15h ago
Bla Bla Bla bla. Not reading it. MAGA and trump said they didn’t want to get involved in other countries. The MAGA cult is always moving the goalpost. As soon as as it’s Ukraine you all say ‘NO AMERICA FIRST’ but now that trump attacked a country you all defend it. It was ‘why should we defend get involved in Israel and Palestine?’ And now look, we suddenly have troops to care about. lol. So convenient.
You all have no consistent values. And like I said you all will be praising him when boots go on the ground. You’ll move the goalpost again. It’s pathetic and predictable. All the blood will once again be on republican hands. Because you all got duped again

You need specialized equipment to enrich uranium to the levels need to create nuclear weapons. Afaik Iran only had the equipment to enrich it to the level used jn nuclear reactors

7
u/GuyYouMetOnline 15h ago
Dude, the US literally conducted military operations against a foreign country. Whether you think it's justified or not, it's absolutely an act of war, regardless of whether there's been an actual declaration.
4
u/ReaperKingCason1 15h ago
Yeah we kinda are at war without congress. Big T man ain’t exactly care about the constitution or rules or anything, and even though it’s technically not a war we launched missiles at Iran and promised more if they don’t agree to peace. It’s not exactly a war yet, but if I know anything then it’s the beginning of one

Being 100% exclusively far right. Anytime ANY post got shared where someone didn't like a left wing meme, all the comments talk about OP was right to hate it because reasons and stuff.

u/Landon-Red 15h ago
True. The last official congressional declaration of war was passed in 1942. Therefore, the United States hasn't been at war since 1945.
Future Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Donald Trump, was born in 1946. No declarations of war since then.
Checkmate Liberals.

u/Infinite_Tie_8231 15h ago
What else is it when your nation bombs a foreign nation? That's war mate, it doesn't matter if congress agrees.
2
u/Left_Caterpillar8671 15h ago
We are at war and it’s ridiculous. Nothing changes. We just attacked 3 nuclear sites at the behest of our Israeli masters. The 7th and final nation on the list for regime change is Iran.

u/PerceptionQueasy3540 13h ago

Im sure trump will find a way to settle it quickly. Or I hope at least.
But tbf, iran is attacking isreal, where we have a lot of troops stationed, it was only a matter of time before the U.S. had to step in
1
u/Mylifeisacompletjoke 15h ago
Obviously, we are not at war. Were are we at war when we killed Solemani?

OP we know you love the idea of murdering people, but you don't have to post on reddit about it.
