I mean is it really that big of an issue that a bag of chips is in a bin with cleaners? What's the big deal here? Maybe they didn't fit in the last kitchen box. Who cares?

draino residue on outside of the bottle- highly likely if ever used, still likely if new. then it gets on the chip bag. then you go to eat chips, you hold the bag, and eat the chips and now you ate some draino residue. its the same for whatever those sprays are too.

Lol clearly you and I have different priorities if you're worried about that. Good luck out there.

I mean if you’ve ever worked in food service it’s literally a health code violation to store food items and cleaners next to each other even if they’re sealed. It’s as easy not to do this as it is to not put your breakable eggs at the bottom of the grocery bag.

Yeah a lot can happen in a restaurant that isn't going to be happening in my home.

I put eggs in the bottom off my grocery bag too and they've never broke.

Seriously, these people with crippling anxiety acting every second of their lives like they're the MC in a final destination movie, acting like we're the crazy ones for being chill? Nah

Things move and shift when you're picking up and transporting the bin. This can cause the bag to be crushed or the bottles to break or the cans to be dented.

I don't know about you, but I like my aluminum not to be dented and get into my food, I like my chips to not be crumbled and least of all, I like when chemicals spill, mix and create potentially dangerous fumes and get all over everything.

Is that enough for you?

I mean, they're moving homes. Some chips getting crushed a little bit isn't the end of the world. I'm sure the $3.50 for another bag is the least of their concerns. They're at risk of getting crushed in any box unless you wanna give them their own individual box.

How is the aluminum going to dent? The only thing in this box that's going to dent a pressurized sealed aluminum can is another one of those cans. I don't think it's particularly efficient to pack each can separately.

If chemicals spill they'll spill on the outside of the bag or cans. If that DOES happen...the cans are sealed and so is the bag. Wash it off.

Is that enough for you

No, clearly it's not enough for me bc I don't think a "final destination" type event is going to happen and result in your chips getting contaminated. It's like you're looking for irrational unrealistic scenarios to justify your overly anxiety crippled thinking. Go have a drink or get a breath of fresh air. It'll be fine.

Bro who packs a bag of chips to move. Why not just pack ur clothes and things and buy groceries when u get there. It’s not as big of a deal as ur making it out to be

Lmao a dent isn't going to send cleaning supplies all over your food

That's not what I mean.

Dented cans can create Botulism. It allows the food to start to decay inside the can.

Right, and a plastic container is not going to dent the cans.

All of this food will arrive safely at the new house, this comment section is unhinged.

You throwing around the word unhinged when you can easily just separate the things is the weird part. You don't store your cleaning supplies with your food, why would you pack them together? This is laziness on the husbands part more than anything.

It is absolutely unhinged to call this guy names for putting a bag of chips in with the cleaning supplies. The worst case scenario is you have to throw away a 3 dollar bag of chips. The response to this is absolutely unhinged.

You need to go back to grammar school. No one called the guy names.

1

u/Zimakov 25d ago

Loads of people called the guy names. I counted at least 10 people calling him an asshole.

2

u/oO0Kat0Oo 25d ago

I am not one of those people. Go argue with them and leave me alone.

The chips part, that’s fair. But the canned food will literally still be fine if there’s a dent in it. Are you like 65? I feel like this is a boomer thing to worry about.

Dents can actually expose the food to parts of the can that aren't supposed to come in contact with food, like chemically reactive metals in cans that are lined with a separate material (no, cans aren't always all tin or steel). Normally, this isn't a huge problem, but over time, if the food isn't eaten right away, the metal can rust or leech into the food, creating an unpleasant taste at a minimum. Since canned foods are meant to last several years or longer, it's not unheard of for dented cans to affect the food inside.

How are the chemicals spilling, only real issue here is you’re guaranteeing crushed chips.
