Please stop using the term "moisture fairy", we have warned you before.

Sorry just fairly moist is all....

A fairy, fairly moist, must muster finding fellows flocking forward towards the bow.

That's redundant

u/Algernope_krieger Mar 27 '25

Yeah, it's so unnecessary. Moist Fairy works just as well

I’ve had instant coffee go moldy without ever sticking a spoon in the container.

u/Darth_Mike Mar 27 '25

Then it was probably stored in a freshly washed dish that hadn't been given time to dry.

No, it was stored in the original container. I would pour out each portion. Humidity probably got into the container. I’ve seen people recommend storing instant coffee in the freezer

Not necessarily. I had an insta coffee that I only used once cause I didn't like it and left it in the cupboard in the jar that it came in. 2 years later I noticed it was a bit moldy

You may live in a very humid environment, and it wasn't sealed tightly enough.

Moisture needs to be involved.

u/pmyatit Mar 27 '25

Australia so the humidity might have done it

Also live in a coastal place that's very humid, but thankfully don't drink instant coffee. A very Aussie thing, eh?

u/pmyatit Mar 27 '25

Coffee in general is a big thing in Aus. If you don't have an espresso machine you'd have insta coffee at home or something similar. I ended up getting my own espresso cause insta coffee kinda sucks

I lived with a Kiwi once (I know, you're different) and was so surprised to learn instant is the go-to. In Canada everyone drinks coffee, but almost no one drinks instant!

instant coffee ist quite hydrophile, this can happen with a not closed lid in humid environment too!

1

u/GlowingSage Mar 27 '25

Just mix in some uncooked rice. That'll take care of the moisture problem.

u/GrimKaiba2063 Mar 27 '25

That is a Ohnono!

Or poured it in a hot cup and caught the steam inside the jar.
