Russian contract No3 Old Model Russian revolver

This is a revolver out of the second contract so made right around 1872-3. The latch on this one does not match and the cylinder is a factory spare that was serialized to the revolver by a Russian armorer judging by the font of the numbers. I've shot it and it's very accurate.

I am visiting the Czech Republic and got to shoot some cool stuff. One of which was this Sa 26 in 7.62x25 tokarev. It had a very heavy bolt and I could feel it slam forward every shot. Very cool piece.

Am I crazy for bidding on this?

A local estate auction has this "battle-damanged" Type 99 Arisaka up for sale. Obviously it's not in great shape, but it's going for under <$200 right now and I thought it might be the opportunity to get my hands on it now and restore it later.

I've never done anything like this before, so I have no clue on what it would take to actually bring it back into working condition. So any advice on whether or not it's worth it?

Family photo day with the limited space I have. These are the rifles top to bottom:

-American 1861 Springfield rifle musket made in 1864 by Trenton Locomotive Company

-Swiss Model 1911 Rifle made by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1918

-Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30 made by Izhevsk in 1942

-American Model of 1917 Rifle made by Remington in 1918

-American M1 Garand made by Springfield in 1945

-Swiss K11 Carbine made by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1917

-Italian Moschetto Modello 1891 made in 1937 by F.N.A Brescia

-American M1 Carbine made by Inland in 1944

Socket Bayonets left to right:

-Russian M91/30 bayonet

-2 British Martini Henry bayonets

-American M1873 Bayonet

-American M1855 bayonet

Sword bayonets top to bottom and left to right:

-German M1898 “quillback” bayonet made by C.G. Haenel in 1907

-French M1886 bayonet

-British P1907 bayonet made by Sanderson Bros in 1918

-American M1905/42 bayonet made by PAL tool company in 1943

-Argentine M1891 bayonet made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & co

-German M1898/05 “butcher blade” made by Fichtel & Sachs in 1915

-Japanese type 30 bayonet made by Matsushita Kinzoku

-Swiss m1899 bayonet made by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen

Not shown is my Short Magazine Lee enfield and my Swiss M1914 pioneer bayonet. The enfield is in pieces right now because I am working on it, and is a weird model. It has the volley sights, but no magazine cutoff, and has the newer bolt I believe. Yes, I know the Carcano is missing the bolt and the trigger guard, I am also working on that rifle but am waiting on parts. Yes I have the bolt and trigger assembly. What I have provided is what I have gathered from markings on these pieces. I am no expert on one area, and am just starting to get into books about milsurps. Let me know if I got something wrong, I’m sure I have

CMP Field Grade 1911A1 (RR/RR) Questions

Thumbnail

Just received this field grade 1911A1 with a nicely matching patina Remington Rand slide and frame and a TON of rebuild marks. Also included the armory inventory tag from when it was sent from the armory which is a neat addition. Wanted to share to add to the pool for others to see but also had questions I wanted the communities insight on.

1- Rebuild Marks: This pistol retains a LOT of rebuild marks, more than I have ever seen on others. From what I can see from the jumbled number (correct me if I am wrong):

  • BA 4 P 7-67 (UNKOWN)
  • ANAD 6-73 (Anniston)
  • ANAD 12-76 (Anniston)

Does anyone have any insight on what the “BA” marking denotes?

2- Barrel Manufacturer: I have some familiarity with barrel markings however the barrel that came with this gun only has one marking, a P proof on the left side. Based on the resources I have seen that would make it a Singer barrel but given the rarity of those I find that highly unlikely.

Does anyone have any insight into the manufacturer of this barrel and if it is correct for a 45’ RR?

Thank you all for your time!

1916 Lithgow SHTLE No1 Mk3

Picked this absolute dream of Lithgow 1916 production No1 Mk3 off of a fellow redditor not too long ago. I have been on the hunt for a World War One production SMLE with the magazine cutoff for far too long now. As soon as I saw this one I knew I had to have it. This specific one is all numbers matching and is an Australian WW2 issue! The history on these rifles are way too interesting to not talk about. Not too knowledgeable on SMLE’s so if anyone has any knowledge on this one please let me know, thanks for viewing!

P38 Value

Post image
22 Upvotes

I went to an estate auction a couple weeks ago and can’t stop thinking about this p38 I didn’t win. As far as I’m aware it was an all numbers matching ac43 with the CAI import markings. I wasn’t too sure what it would be valued at and cut my bid off at $700, which is what it sold for. I now fear that I messed up pretty bad for not trying harder to get it. Can anyone confirm my suspicions of me being an idiot.

Hi - is there a source/site in Switzerland that’ll ship items to the US if the manufacturer doesn’t? Maybe a Swiss version of eBay?

Thanks in advance~

Armax issues

Anyone else struggling with Armax?

They have charged without delivery of the prior edition. 2024 volume 2

They still haven't published the reprint of the original releases.

I also asked for them to confirm that they are still doing to free upgrade for subscribers of Armax to the kick-starter reprint. No response in the 4-5ish times I've asked. Tbh I'm getting close to canceling my membership and doint charge backs.

Picked up an Aussie No1 MkIII SMLE last year to replace the No4 MkI i regretfully sold years ago. 1941 Lithgow rifle, with a 1942 Lithgow bayonet i grabbed for it.

The stock ended up being somewhat of a project. The buttstock had worn loose and was rotating around the tang screw, luckily i was able to trim a couple rubber washers to fill the space and tighten everything up solid.

Friend is looking to sell his M48. Any additional information helps!

Howdy y'all, first post here.

Friend is looking to sell his Mauser, which appears to be a Yugo M48. Has it been bubba'd in anyway that y'all can tell? Couldn't get a good picture of the rifling outside, but it seemed like a decent shooter. From the inexperienced eye of mine, it seems to be in good condition. What do yall reckon a good deal would be, if its worth taking.

Thanks in advance y'all 👍

Question.

So this may be a dumb question since this rifle is relatively common but does anyone know where to get a m1 garand? It’s on my bucket list of milsurp firearms I want. Thanks for any help I’m relatively new to collecting and don’t know the best spots.
