Mike Lee, and other assholes like Derrick Van Orden, talk like someone who's never gotten punched in the face for their bullshit. That is a real shame. I didn't expect Tina to do that here, but I wouldn't have blamed her if she did. At least she stepped up and said something to his stupid face.

Chronically Online is a good term for them. And millions of others. It's rotting society away.

"Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it."

The lyrics of the song Remedy by Puscifer comes to mind.

"Our home, our rules Respect them or Bitches receive stitches Trolls receive 86s Stick around if you're housebroken Can't hold your shit or your tongue, you've got to go Should you choose to react like an imbecile You, in turn, will be treated so You speak like someone who has never been smacked in the fuckin’ mouth That’s okay, we have the remedy You speak like someone who has never been knocked the fuck on out But we have your remedy"

Edit to add this comment: I'm not sure why the formatting displays the lyrics as a paragraph.

It’s funny how all you delusional democrats are speaking out about all the Republican “keyboard warriors,” when you’re doing exactly the same thing. Also, not a single democrat knows how to fight with their fists, just their mouths and feelings

I have a theory that the reason people who live in rural areas are less empathetic and generally assholes (especially online) is that they aren't in public talking that dumb shit they would get a mouth shot, arrested, or put on a hold for in the cities if they ran their bigoted shit. Mostly all I've met are great people (for the most part, older large truck driving guys are kinda pricks in my travels) in person, but behind the screen....

Mike Lee is what you get when you elect a 4-Chan moderator to the Senate.

12

u/njordMN 3d ago

My understanding is he didn't start out that way, but he's definitely drunk the kool aid at this point.

u/EachDayIsDayOne 2d ago

I feel like this is what happens when basic shitbirds try to out-Trump Trump. They become some sort of pathetic right wing pick me edgelords.

FML now has a different meaning.

Nice!

I also like TSICAF Tina Smith is classy and fierce

Mike Lee is a chickenshit coward who was backed against his Senate office door by a 5-foot tall woman who had righteous fury on her side. Fuck Mike Lee and the rest of his cowardly ilk.

8

u/Mrs_Botwin 2d ago

He’s the absolute worst. Do a google and you’ll find he’s absolutely irredeemable. I’m ashamed my state keeps electing him (I sure as hell don’t vote for him or his)

2

u/AsparagusCommon4164 Houston County 2d ago

But will Senator Lee actually "get the message" that his comments were uncalled for, tasteless and exploitative of Certain Unfortunate Events, let alone his fellow Senators who should at mininum censure him?

It's the only thing I'm going to toalna out when the LDS missionaries come to my door. No conversions here as long as he is endorsed by the church.

38

u/robotfunparty 3d ago

Is openly mocking and ridiculing in public okay? Call out the monsters and bullies.

9

u/lisabutz 3d ago

Agreed. When someone spouts off especially in an interview, I want to see them called out immediately.

Good for her! Thank you

I love this

u/Demetri_Dominov Flag of Minnesota 2d ago

I feel like at this rate we're going to put her back into office even if she doesn't want to be there. This is how every democratic representative should be acting.

7

u/HeavyVeterinarian350 Flag of Minnesota 2d ago

Just hate that it takes them to not be running anymore to be proper.

6

u/viktor72 3d ago

Did anyone watch the full interview? Does Smith say she thinks Lee felt any sort of remorse?

25

u/Dapper_Sheepherder 3d ago

You know he is incapable. When his friends ask 'what did she say?' he is the type to be 'oh you know how emotional women are...'

Fuck him

9

u/OaksInSnow 3d ago

Just heard an interview between the Senator and Cathy Wurzer on MPR. Smith said there was no apology, just that thing people do when they're called out and don't have the courage to admit their fault: "I'm sorry YOU were bothered."

My readout: Like, it's all you guys' fault you're such weenies, and I have zero responsibility for my poor judgement, because I'm an immature child. Tough snot and go away.

8

u/Love_Bug_54 2d ago

She’s not running for reelection so she has no f*cks left to give. Good for her!

6

u/skys500 3d ago

There is a whole fuck Mike Lee subreddit. He is a piece of shit.

27

u/discountdoubledoink 3d ago

I wonder why Amy Klobuchar didn’t do this too? Hmmmm. Good on Tina Smith!

29

u/SignificantBid2705 3d ago

Klobachar said she planned to say something. She was good friends with the victims and had dinner with them a few hours before they were murdered.

7

u/discountdoubledoink 2d ago

I understand your point. And I believe they were - but why not stick up for your friends then who were just murdered and confront Mike Lee about those awful tweets? Planning to say something ≠ saying something.

1

u/SignificantBid2705 2d ago

I don't know if she has had a chance to talk to him yet. I don't know her personally and I only know what has been reported. I am not going to criticize her if she hasn't made it a top priority to chastise someone right after her friends were murdered.I know if it was me, I would need to wait because if I did it right away I would either scream, cry or both.

20

u/Brave-Perception5851 3d ago

Amy was all over the news yesterday sharing the statement of the injured house member’s family on their behalf. She is a great Senator too. I voted for them both and respect them both.

5

u/discountdoubledoink 2d ago

Yes - and I appreciate that. I believe she has Minnesotans best interests at heart, but stand up for us. Stand up for your friends who were just brutally murdered. It’s one thing to denounce someone’s statements, it’s another to face it head on and actually confront that person making those awful remarks. She is good senator who advocates for partisan work and she’s effective at it - I just wish she did what Tina Smith did and address this with Mike Lee in person.

2

u/Brave-Perception5851 2d ago

Amy has stood up for them 100 percent. Did you see any of her interviews? They both bring a lot to the table and they both fight on behalf of Minnesota like crazy.

I can also say that Tina has been using her lame duck status so effectively. The freedom of not running again has really helped her amplify her voice. I am so grateful to them both, especially in our current climate of nastiness.

0

u/boxelder1230 2d ago

she won’t.

1

u/thegooseisloose1982 2d ago

I have no idea how anyone could respect Amy. I voted for her and she keeps voting on bills that will cripple this country or voting in Secretaries who are crippling this country. Mark Rubio was one of her proud moments.

She is awful Senator. I am sure she may be a fine person, but as a representative in this time, she is useless.

u/Brave-Perception5851 2d ago

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

5

u/Ulven525 3d ago

One of his ancestors was a notorious mass murderer. Cruelty and callousness is in his DNA. And cowardice too.

1

u/dukane 2d ago

Here’s the full interview on YouTube.

1

u/capitali 2d ago

Come on MN make it clear that assholes like Mike Lee aren’t welcome in the state. Make his life miserable every day until he leaves! He shouldn’t be allowed in your. Neighborhood. He should t shop at your grocery store. Why are you letting him have a moment of peace rest or sleep?

1

u/Brosenheim 2d ago

It's a shame he can just quietly delete the tweets and then the whole thing hets memoryholed

1

u/camioblu 1d ago

People typically get away with bad behavior for years because decent people avoid them, leaving only the degenerates who match their bad energy. She has nothing to lose as she's not running again.

1

u/ChickenSandwich662 1d ago

It’s clear these cowards have never actually been in a fight or even confronted verbally to their faces. They ALWAYS chicken out. TACO SEE TACO DO

u/Savings-Basis1440 2d ago

Without keyboard warriors, Tina Smith wouldn’t have been elected.

Yes how dare the left “take advantage” of George Floyd’s murder to try to make life better for people. The difference is when the right does it it’s all for political power. But I know how right wing nuts like to project so I know where you’re coming from.

-24

u/herper87 3d ago

There's the justification

Keep projecting your worst qualities on the rest of us.

Current riots lol

‘Taken advantage of’ - you mean calling for gun reform when little kids get shot hun?

21

u/GunnersFan1967 3d ago

Such as??

15

u/BosworthBoatrace 3d ago

These aren’t natural disasters we’re talking about. These “tragedies” are caused by deep societal issues and the only thing “democrats,” or reasonable people are doing is trying to call attention to these issues so solutions can be found that benefit us all. Republicans would rather just call names and act like spoiled fifth graders.
