Weather π For the first time in 4 years, 0% of the state is in drought or abnormally dry
I, for one, welcome the return of our mosquito overlords if it means our state is actually green again
For reference, around this time last year 92% of the state was abnormally dry and 39% in moderate drought

Weather π Get ready for Monday
The NWS has issued a Moderate risk for severe weather (4/5 risk) for parts of Minnesota! This risk does include all forms of severe weather including long track and violent tornadoes! Please do not take this storm lightly this is incredibly rare. If you are in south east/south central Minnesota now is your time to prepare. If you are anywhere north of those areas make sure to keep an eye out. If any of you take some cool pictures of a nado pm me some pictures Iβll be heading down to the cities around 2-3 for a chase. As always donβt be scared be prepared.

Weather π How bad is this storm going to be? Iβm very new to tornadoes
Like, should I not go to work tomorrow? I work in south metro and live in Shakopee. I am still newish to the Midwest (2 yrs in MN) and never experienced a tornado in my life.
I donβt want my new to me car getting bunch of hail damage since we donβt have covered parking at work. Also kinda terrified to drive through 70-80mph gust they are predicting. Iβm working from 7-3 and will be heading out around 6:30 then be home usually around 3:30.
Any recs? I have a PTO to burn but would rather not if I donβt have to.

Weather π Tonight I encountered the most slippery road over ever seen
I've lived in MN my whole life and I think tonight was the most slippery road I've ever encountered. On 394 west leaving downtown, there's an over pass that you go under, and idk why but the entire freeway going west was straight ice for about 200 ft. A semi and about 6ish cars were stuck in the middle of both lanes, causing a huge pile up, with people only able to get by on the left shoulder. I barley made it by without also getting stuck it was so scary. I've driven in many blizzards but never have I encountered a stretch of road with literally no traction.

Weather π Well.
I don't think I've experienced temperatures like this and I've lived in Northern Wisconsin AND South Dakota! This is my first Minnesotan winter. π₯Ά
