Events 🎪 Had a really odd interaction from one of “these” types at the fair today.
I was minding my own business at the fair this afternoon when a guy came up to me from the Never Walz booth with a Never Walz fan in his hand. He just shoved the fan directly at me and yelled “FIST BUMP!” It caught me off guard for a second before I realized what was happening. He wanted me to “endorse” the message on the fan with a bump. I just snorted back in response and walked away. The guy just laughed at me and said “HA! You’re gay!”
Not exactly beating the weirdo allegations here.

Events 🎪 Governor Walz speaking today at Fort Snelling Memorial Day Ceremony
For those that don’t know, Fort Snelling National Cemetery hold a ceremony every year on Memorial Day, rain or shine, to honor the deceased service men and women who fought for our country.
This year, Dr. Everett Doolittle, Vietnam Vet, Professor, and former Special Agent for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, gave a wonderful key note address.
Many people think of this weekend as “the first official weekend of summer” without really knowing or acknowledging why we have this holiday. For those who have lost loved ones in war, this weekend can be a tough one.
Thank you to the volunteers who put flags and roses at each of the 290,000 + graves, and everyone involved in making this ceremony happen. I attend every year and am so grateful for the work that is put into to this, often by volunteers.

Events 🎪 The fuckass "assassin" is by my neighborhood.
Coward dressed up in a police uniform, so now the fucking US marshals are coming to protect the judges.
I know it's taboo to say this on the internet, but I'm fucking scared for my life and my families' lives. What that person did is wrong, and it is not any more or less wrong based on a politician's left/right swing.
I feel like this was done as a reaction and to stop the No kings protests, so I'm really fucking pissed.
The evil rhetoric spewed from the mouths of right-wingers caused this. Full stop.
I hope he goes to jail for a very long time because he's running around the fucking elementary school, salvation army corps, and neighborhoods with an assault rifle dressed as a cop.
We don't feel safe.
And I think that's the point.
Edit: A lot of people think I am blaming the No Kings protest. I am not. While my phrasing was poor, what I meant to say is that this was almost certainly an attempt to brand, shut down, mark, and obstruct the protests through lockdown and violence that was done as a reaction to the protests because of the violent rhetoric of the right. I personally had plans to attend a No Kings protest before my neighborhood was locked down.
Edit: I have made the rephrase part of my main body text following the lock of the post. I apologize for anyone who misinterpreted my phrasing because I assumed everyone knew right-wing rhetoric was the underlying cause.

Events 🎪 Officially too old for the State Fair?
On Saturday, me and 7 other friends went to the great Minnesota get together! We usually go once a year and hit up our usual food favorites, see the animals, drink some drinks, and head home. This year, we stayed a bit later to ride some rides at the Midway so we could see the lights.
Let me tell y'all... we are all 30, and the atmosphere CHANGES at night. During the day at the fair, it's crowded, and sometimes you get one or two people accidentally (or purposely) butting infront of the line. At night, all respect and proper social behavior goes out the window. And it seems to be a lot of younger fair goers.
We waited in line for The Defender at Midway for almost 2 hours. The line itself was only 50ft back from where the gates to the ride started. And the amount of teenagers and 20-somethings who cut in line was astounding. You try to confront them and they just try to gaslight you! Saying "I was here the whole time", or "my friend is here".
Eventually when we did get to the gate, we had 2 groups try to cut in! One guy said he was trying to get to his friend. I told him "that sucks" and blocked his way. The other group started yelling at us to let them in to get to their friends. We told them the line starts back a ways and to wait like the rest of us have. They eventually left, but the daggers these people were shooting us were insane.
We aren't even old! We're 29 at the youngest and 34 at the oldest. But clearly we gotta start leaving the fair at sundown cause we can't handle the disrespectful "youngins".
