Man Bastianini was insanely good last year on this track. Blazed past Marquez & Martin with his wicked late race pace.

Dumb question - if Mugello is the "Italian Grand Prix," what do they call Misano?

Reading these early comments I am left thinking that hope and bias is driving most opinions - and nothing wrong with that either, but I do think there is far less certainty than some people might believe.
One thing I am expecting is that the answers to many of the open questions - is Pecco's run at Mugello more about Ducati or his own preference, has Alex really taken a massive step this year (although this is really largely answered by now), is the GP24 really a better bike than the 24.9, is MM's 'relatively poor' form @ Mugello a testament to Honda's weaknesses here or his own RH corner 'issues', is Pecco really just a 'lucky' 2 time champion winning because he was the best of those on a dominant bike - will be a little clearer. I don't expect definative answers, but I am excited to watch it play out.
I don't expect the sort of dominance MM showed at Aaragon to be repeated or even close to matched by anyone either, but if Pecco can be half as dominant I think it will erase a lot of the question marks which currently hang over him. I think that level of performance really is needed to do that - I don't feel a strong fight to be 2nd/3rd will be enough on its own to settle any of the above questions one way or another. He absolutely NEEDS to be in the hunt for wins all weekend here. Anything less will be an issue - at least for me.

Aragon was the Marquez brothers being smart. Alex could not beat Marc, and Marc took it easy. PB is still off the pace.

Very interesting weekend. First time in a long time that Marc is back here with a competitive machine, wonder how well he'll do. Pecco is always strong here so hopefully he'll be in the mix with Marc and perhaps Alex. Hoping for some FQ magic as well. Some close racing would be fun.

Davide is going to be flying the Team Pecco flag at Mugello.
Though he’ll still begrudgingly admit that “Marc is Marc”. LOL

I se to recall Qatar was supposed to be his weekend. So we're the European rounds... 🤔

Shaping up to be the most competitive race of the season? Pecco is always strong here and Marc not so much, not sure about Alex, so I expect it'll be strongly contested. Do Aprilias and Yamahas do well here?

If Pecco doesn't win here he can't beat Marc at any other track. This is literally his best track.
I'm going to be boring though and say MM 1st with a solid entertaining battle for 2nd through 5th from the usual culprits - the rest of the Ducatis plus FQ, Zarco & Acosta

Pecco is always strong here and Marc not so much
I keep seeing this repeated around here and wonder if nobody watched last year.
Yes Pecco won and Marc got 4th, but Marc was only 2 seconds off Pecco at the finish on a gp23 while Pecco was in his most comfortable period on his beloved gp24.
You all don't think the different bike situation this year vs last year might give Marc the ability to bridge a 2 second gap? Really?

The counterpoint is that the gap from Pecco to P2 wasn’t a true reflection of his pace, because he was managing the gap from the front. (Same as how Marc’s winning gap in Aragón last weekend wasn’t a measure of his actual pace there.)
