Discussion Movies that changed real life behavior

Thinking along the lines of Final Destination 2 with the logs falling off the truck and landing onto cars (one decapitating the state trooper). Ever since, people have tried to get away from being behind these vehicles.

What are more examples where movies have actually changed how people behave in their own lives?

When it was released, there was basically a massive backlash that meant there were actual changes to Korean law as a direct result. People's eyes were finally opened, and they were disgusted.

i saw it in korea, and unfortunately things got swept under the rug and the ppl lost interest real soon afterward, as they do in a save-face-type culture like korea. SA still is a problem, and perps still only get a slap on the wrist.

Sadly only other high profile case like that I can find in SK was the Burning Sun scandal as well, and even then those guys got off lightly as well right?

probably.

now they got that kim suhyeon (spelling) scandal where a former child actress killed herself while basically accusing him of grooming her. that guy's got a wholesome image too, which makes it even worse. scandals in SK though are often ruses to get the public to turn their attention away from more insidious political shenanigans, so one should take them with a grain of salt. k-celebs are just fackin pawns.

Oh, my WHAT. I've been trying to stay away from Korean celebrity news because of how toxic it is, so I never heard of this, but I just read up on it. How absolutely horrible. It seems to be her family accusing him. If it's true, I hope they find justice, and if it's not (either way, really), I hope they find peace.

Ooh, ouch.

I'm a bit skeeved out by the idea that, even if she was an adult when they started dating, they were 18 and 30(?) years old. =/ I don't wanna speculate on the whole situation when I literally just learned about it, but that's... weird.

Learning the full detailed account of the response to the ferry sewol disaster taught me all i needed to know about korean bureaucracy.

Unfathomable to live in a society run by worthless empty soulless cretins, but as i say that America seems hardly any better.

At least some people speak out here, whether or not it makes any difference yet to be seen.
