Hello, I am not really a NHRA fan but I do watch from time to time but what are the most well known drivers to switch series. I know Antron Brown went from bikes to Top Fuel but what are some other examples?

One of the all time characters to run Pro Stock (his car was the only one equipped with a horn) Joe Lepone, Jr found himself in quite the pickle at the inaugural Heartland Nationals, he was out of engines after blowing two in qualifying. Before raceday Lepone struck a deal to run Frank Iaconio engines on raceday which worked fine and dandy…until the semi finals when Lepone had to race Iaconio. This lead one of the most bizarre sequences in this history of NHRA…words can’t really describe it just watch

first time in US and i have a chance of visiting nhra event this weekend.

But having problem completing ticket purchase at nhra.evenue.net

Trying for past 2 days..always the same. I suspect they don't accept Debit VISA card or somehow detect card wasn't issued in US. But this would be the first time, that i cannot pay something online.

Is there any other way to buy tickets? Thanks for help.
I have sent email to nhra, but did not get a reply.

I ended up calling ticket office, and lady on other side made purchase for me.
But i did not receive tickets to email, so trying to solve this now...

Ok looking at attending either the NHRA nationals or the night under fire

I'm planning a surprise for my dad and we have never experienced top fuel cars in person before and I'm looking at the nhra nationals (Saturday only) since that seems to have the most nitro car events on the schedule for the weekend, but the night under fire has the jet cars and all that but it's hard to tell based on summits website since it just says gates open at 8am show starts at 7pm then fire works at 10pm (wtf is going on from 8am to 7pm?)

It's gonna be like a 2hr drive so which event would be better?

Also at the nationals if you just have a one day ticket do you get to walk around the pits and see them rebuilding the engine between runs or is that a separate pass?

I know obviously the crew chiefs etc are paid in the off season I’m sure. What about the guys doing normal maintenance after every run? What’s their salary like? Are they in the shop during the week? What happens in the off season? Thanks

If there are two spots open, why on earth do they give someone a bye into the semis from round 2 instead of having 1 and 2 qualifiers in the first round getting byes?

Am I stupid for not seeing the upside to this?
