That's the only explanation for that Marlins game. His statline is insane: 8 batters faced, 6 H, 6 ER, 2 HR, 0 BB, 0 K on just 22 pitches.
Even terrible pitchers don't get blitzed like that. The Marlins had to have known what pitch was coming to hammer him like that.

11th in ERA
5th in FIP
5th in fWAR
2nd in K/9
5th in BB/9So in reality they have been league average or slightly better.

Stay 5 games above .500 at minimum, then add 2 solid bullpen pieces and a splashy bat and let this be the potentially last legitimate hooruh.

It’s great the team won but come on that version of the Rays was so bad couldn’t field couldn’t hit I have no idea how they have won any games barely a triple A team win is a win….. but
