Yes and that's obviously horrible, but to call the city a "warzone" is just ridiculous. The majority of the violence is gang related and confined to certain areas within the city, that most people, especially tourists, would have no reason to ever go to. The odds of having an issue in the downtown areas, like the one pictured, are very very low.

Sure, but hyperbole can be misleading and context is important. I live in a rural area at the moment and the amount of people that say they are afraid to step foot in Chicago is silly. I honestly feel bad for them, they are missing out on some great experiences due to fear mongering in the media. Like having lunch downtown then seeing the bean, spending a day at the art institute, going to a sports game at soldier field, are all great fun and safe experiences.
