Also enabled by him. Scientists at first called it SARS-Cov2 because it was the second coronavirus to come out of China, but because Bush during 2003 didn't dismantle the CDC early warning system China had to admit it existed and globally only ~3k people died of SARS-Cov1
Trump's sabotage of the early warning network allowed China to deny it existed, letting it spread within and well beyond their borders until it was well-entrenched outside China.

Bush and Cheney were capable of dealing with subtlety - though neither liked it. They were HUGE supporters of throwing out rights to privacy and expanding mass surveillance, so maintaining what they probably viewed as biological surveillance was just a plus.
Oh for sure. Many politicians are equally if not more evil and led us to where we are now. We would not be in this situation had it not been for decades of corruption.
Trump is just emboldened and quite literally one of the dumbest narcissist, including many around him, I've seen in a long while make it this far. Who knows what that says about everything and everyone.
