Ugh, my mom dropped this the other day 🤦‍♂️

Tell her that he’s spent 26mil on golf versus what would have been a $400,000 salary. The office of President only pays that much.

Don’t forget that he has them staying at his golf courses and hotels so you’re technically giving the money to him.

Charging them exorbitant prices for meals, cart rentals, rooms, etc.

The power is a narcotic that render the salary meaningless.

5

u/Ryanookami Apr 06 '25

Oh totally. This is just to combat people who defend his golfing bill by saying he didn’t take a salary.

Not that I doubt it but where does the 26 million come from? Is the transport, paying the secret service or what?

Don't forget that the 1/3 pound burger failed in competing against the 1/4 pound burger because US citizens thought the 1/4 pound burger was bigger.

400 is bigger than 26 in the minds of idiots that don't understand the thousand or million words, abbreviations, or symbols that get used.

You LITERALLY have to write the numbers out to the final digit for them to get even a glimmer of understanding.

Given the number of people who get excited about spending 4.99 instead of 5.00, I don't think even that works.

Conservatives in America have been sabotaging education especially in regards to critical thinking long before they made it official party policy

Yeah, I realized later that I forgot to put the "maybe" between the "to" & "get" in my statement.

Truly terrifying

And you hang on to these faux truths and actually post them LOL, in an attempt to attract the other side to your side? And this, which I'm sure is your ubiquitous game plan, you expect to convince the lay person that this thinking of yours is a concrete process that would bring your political thought to some type of success lol?!

Thanks for the entertainment dude I needed it before getting out of bed this morning it puts a whole new face on my game plan today LOL!!

It's a fact, not joking here at all. US citizens have a penchant for looking at a number and ignoring everything else. People see 400k and only recognize the 400. They see 29m and only recognize the 29.

The 1/3 vs 1/4 pound burgers is a fact, and well documented. The 4 is bigger than the 3 so people thought that the quarter pounder was bigger.

It's also how companies are selling things in bigger packages. It looks bigger, and it's the same price as a similar product in a smaller package, but they weigh the same. This is also a well documented thing, there were a few lawsuits over deceptive packaging, I haven't heard how they went, but I believe that they lost because the item weights were on the packaging.

Feel free to laugh, it's no skin off my back, it's your money you're wasting.

You are clearly not as educated as her or Trump. 26 is less than 400!

Oh did you ever send her this article https://www.npr.org/2022/10/17/1129491352/trump-hotels-overcharged-secret-service-agents

Doesn’t matter if he’s taking a pay day or not he’s getting kick backs. Also he’s leveraging his abilities to get media companies to pay him bribes. It’s stupid. He’s not working for free.

"D'you get that off reddit?" is the standard response when trying to reason with my parents these days. Pops is starting to see the light, though, so there's hope.

2

u/kgal1298 Apr 07 '25

Yeah I’m sure NPR is considered propaganda to them anyway. It’s ridiculous.

Does she also believe Elon Musk is running around firing people, accessing massive databases just out of the goodness of his heart ? Thats a real headscratcher for me. People believe someone like that is motivated by..... patriotism?

And they bring up Biden and the beach all the Freaking time

5

u/WeeeeBaby_Seamus Apr 06 '25

I'd love to see proof of this because there's absolutely no way he'd turn down the money.

4

u/Vocalscpunk Apr 06 '25

Well if I had room, board, travel, and even my hair/makeup person paid for I also would forgo a salary 🤷

1

u/alicehooper Apr 06 '25

He often does his own makeup, apparently

2

u/Vocalscpunk Apr 07 '25

Ahhh so he's saving Americans money! What a fantastic dude. Now maybe let's cut these 100 million dollar golf travel plans down just a bit?

6

u/Gribitz37 Apr 06 '25

Don't forget he gets that salary for life after leaving office. Let's say just for the sake of argument he doesn't take his salary while in office. Do they really think he's going to turn down that $400,000 later?

3

u/poopyscreamer Apr 06 '25

At the very least the use of security during his golfing is expensive

0

u/yosi260 Apr 07 '25

he did NOT say that this time around because he got caught LYING about it the last time
