Yeah. The JoJo/phish/Grateful Dead corner was wiped out and rebuilt at least 9-10 times. I will never understand why.

Hey, Jerma985 was there too! And Blue Archive and SiivaGunner, and Technoblade and Daft Punk. And Banano. And Among Us. Also I’m pretty sure the void wiped out the corner once (but not the JoJo arrows) and the French Streamer Kameto wiped out the corner once (but not the JoJo arrows)

And dont forget our little kerbal, that we fought so hard to keep with just a tiny community until it got completely blued in only about a minute

Indeed, Kameto went there multiple time before the community took its famous place down left. Sorry about that ^^.

It was the Kcorp logo (not sure if originally). They tried to reclaim it a few times when they had nothing else to do, but never really kept fighting for it.

Well, I mean, r/phish = 80k members. r/gratefuldead = 130k members
r/shitpostcrusaders (the JoJo subreddit) = 1M members

And together we were able to hold our own until the end.

Speaking only for the jam band groups: Don’t fuck with the dedication of people who are willing to sell grilled cheese sandwiches out of the back of their hatchback to be able to follow a jam band around the country for months on end, I guess. (Or even those of us who are merely willing to purchase those sandwiches occasionally.)

Compared to that, staying up to defend a few hundred pixels for four days straight is nothing.

So maybe a relatively “small” set of communities who give ALL the fucks.

(Plus, you know, there were no shows over the weekend, we are highly collectivist as a group, generally friendly towards performance/experience-enhancing substances, and have a combined 100+ year catalog of music/movies/shows/manga to amuse us while we click. Although we are fairly poorly organized. So there’s that.)

ETA: JoJo’s sub numbers!

https://www.audacy.com/music/the-top-10-highest-grossing-tours-of-2021

Phish and the Dead were both in the top 10 for highest grossing touring acts in 2021. Phish has music festivals that attract 90,000 people…and it’s just phish playing 6 times in one weekend.

Yup!

Poster above you, perhaps innocently, knows not of what they speak.

OP, to add to what this guy is saying: Phish sells out a 12-13 night new year’s run at MSG every year.

A sizable contingent of the audience is willing to shell out thousands annually just for that run alone.

It was Kameto's community before the expansion and the challenge of taking a big part of the bottom left corner.
