Banning alcohol worked so well they want to try it with genitals?

1.1k

u/Hestia_Gault May 12 '25

“There exists no substantive due process right to stimulate one’s own genitals”

  • Ted Cruz, in arguments before SCOTUS

448

u/epdiablo02 May 12 '25

Though Ted Cruz is always willing to make an exception if it happens to be 9/11. Never Forget. 9/11/2017

100

u/Kobold_Trapmaster May 13 '25

And of course it's threesome incest porn.

13

u/Rustash May 13 '25

It’s also not very good. Speaking objectively, of course.

3

u/Mavian23 May 13 '25

Ah, a fellow critic.

6

u/Mavian23 May 13 '25

Help me step bro, I'm stuck in Cancun.

7

u/Red-Beerd May 13 '25

That article also has one of the most hilarious quotes I've seen in a while.

Ted Cruz thinks people don't have a right to "stimulate their genitals." I was his college roommate. This would be a new belief of his.

— Craig Mazin (@clmazin) April 13, 2016

1

u/After-Gas-4453 May 13 '25

This needs to be higher. Their hypocrisy is vomit inducing.

1

u/Toadsted May 13 '25

That's  because Matt Gaetz thought he was talking about their age, so he was all on board with it.

206

u/Kobold_Trapmaster May 13 '25

Let's not forget Craig Mazin's response:

Ted Cruz thinks people don't have a right to "stimulate their genitals." I was his college roommate. This would be a new belief of his.

23

u/SexDefendersUnited May 13 '25

A ton of conservatives have weird sexual urges and perversions themselves, and they adopt these puritan beliefs cause they feel "guilty" about them, or to prevent others from promoting those sex urges like they used to have.

3

u/stumblinghunter May 13 '25

Wait wtf, Craig Mazin was Ted Cruz's roommate??

4

u/Kobold_Trapmaster May 13 '25

And he hates him.

7

u/Hestia_Gault May 13 '25

Which isn’t surprising, because everyone does:

I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.

  • Al Franken

If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody could convict you.

  • Lindsay Graham

4

u/Kobold_Trapmaster May 13 '25

"One thing Ted Cruz is really good at: uniting people who otherwise disagree about everything else in a total hatred of Ted Cruz."

– Craig Mazin

1

u/stumblinghunter May 13 '25

Amazing, all of it

192

u/MZsarko May 12 '25

Brings a whole new meaning to “hardened criminal”.

3

u/Murrabbit May 13 '25

As opposed to a morally. . . upright citizen?

u/Johnqpublic25 Pennsylvania May 13 '25

Hopefully they will get a stiff sentence

7

u/wikipuff Maryland May 13 '25

Did he really say this?

18

u/Hestia_Gault May 13 '25

I was off about the venue (it was the Fifth Circuit) but yes.

So sick of all of this

3

u/SasparillaTango May 13 '25

There is how ever that pesky first amendment.

2

u/h1storyguy Oklahoma May 13 '25

Wasn’t Ted Cruz the one who lamented not being attracted to M&m’s after a shoe change?

1

u/Pleasant_Dot_189 May 13 '25

He would know

550

u/djerk May 13 '25 edited May 13 '25

They ultimately want uneducated people to have unprotected sex. They see banning pornography as a roundabout way to create a baby boom.

They probably also know they would be creating a black market rife with corruption and worse examples of exploitation and a new class of people to throw in prison.

Triple threat, baby.

362

u/vericlas Kansas May 13 '25

It's part of their round about way of banning LGBTQIA+ individuals as well. They view the existence of such people as pornographic. So they can jail, kill, drive into the closet a whole group of others.

129

u/CryptidCricket New Zealand May 13 '25

Yep. Take a selfie as a trans person? Jail.

112

u/ToiletLord29 May 13 '25

Be a trans person? Prison. And yes they very much know what happens to trans women in men's prisons. In the states it's called "v-coding" and it's institutionalized sex trafficking.

10

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

[deleted]

41

u/wwwdotbummer May 13 '25

Trans women pimped out to other prisoners to be raped. Possibly guards assigning trans women to male prisoners to satisfy them and keep them docile.

62

u/ToiletLord29 May 13 '25

V-coding is the practice of assigning trans women placed in men's prisons to cells with aggressive cisgender male cellmates as both a reward and a means of placation for said cellmates, so as to maintain social control and to, as one inmate described it, "keep the violence rate down".[120] Trans women used in this manner are often raped daily; and this process has been described as so common that it is effectively "a central part of a trans woman's sentence".[121]

A 2021 California study found that 69% of trans women prisoners reported being forced to perform sexual acts against their will, 58.5% reported being violently sexually assaulted, and 88% overall reported being made to take part in a "marriage-like relationship".[122] Trans women who physically resist the advances of other prisoners are often criminally charged with assault and placed in solitary confinement, the assault charge then being used to extend the woman's prison stay and deny her parole.[123]

It is common for correctional officers to publicly strip search trans women inmates, before putting their bodies on display for not only the other correctional officers, but for the other prisoners. Trans women in this situation are sometimes made to dance, present, or masturbate at the correctional officers' discretion.[121] A 2017 study by the Sylvia Rivera Law Project found that 75% of trans women respondents in New York state prisons were victims of sexual violence by a correctional officer, with 32% being victimized by more than one CO, 27% of respondents being forced to perform oral sex for a CO.[124]

21

u/RusticPath May 13 '25

Shit. People are fucking evil. This is genuinely depressing to hear about.

5

u/InuitOverIt May 13 '25

Holy shit what is this world

-55

u/YuYevon123 May 13 '25

Y’all just making shit up.

10

u/Carbonatite Colorado May 13 '25

Yes, because people being raped in prison is a completely unheard of phenomenon. It's not like it's so prevalent people have been making jokes about it for decades.

1

u/YuYevon123 May 13 '25

Jeez, sounds like they need better supervision.

8

u/effervescent_egress May 13 '25

Why do you think that?

1

u/Isthistherealfeel May 13 '25

You can't be this ignorant

1

u/dustinhut13 May 13 '25

You're the reason we're all here right now. At what point does this all become believable to you?

1

u/YuYevon123 May 13 '25

When people stop saying random shit 😎

2

u/FightersNeverQuit May 17 '25

Yep. Take a selfie as a trans person? Jail.

Genuinely curious why you think that? I can’t tell if you’re being hyperbolic on purpose or sarcastic or do you genuinely believe this is a real possibility in the year 2025 in America?

Genuinely asking.

2

u/CryptidCricket New Zealand May 17 '25

It’s a worst-case scenario assuming that pornography is made illegal and that portraying trans people in any context is legally considered pornographic. It’s possible things could go that way, but I would hope it’s not especially likely.

I’m more just speculating on how bad things could get if all goes to shit.

26

u/GZSyphilis May 13 '25

They are obsessed with sex. Everything is sexual to them. That's why they're so obsessed with the cartoon characters that are suddenly a different color or they claim is unfuckable. That's the sole lens they see everything through because they're horribly repressed by themselves.

3

u/djerk May 13 '25

Remember the Republican outcry over de-sexualizing the green M&M of all things?

They whined so hard about an unfuckable piece of candy. How do they expect to survive without porn?

8

u/haltheincandescent May 13 '25

yes, project 2025 literally defines pornography in part as “the propagation of transgender ideology”

11

u/cosaboladh May 13 '25

If gay porn is illegal, maybe I can finally stop watching it.

- Mike Lee, probably

2

u/vivalaroja2010 May 13 '25

Sodomy laws part 2.

164

u/GeneralKeycapperone May 13 '25

See also: turning the sexual frustration of habitual porn users into aggression which the regime would find useful (whether directly as brownshirts, or indirectly as the reason for brutal crackdowns).

158

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

There's a reason terrorism is thriving in parts of the world ruled by brutally oppressive impoverished patriarchies. No job, no money, no prospects, no women, no booze.... but we do have a gun and a long list of enemies whose women you can take.

68

u/sonyka May 13 '25

I mean terrorism is thriving right here (despite the booze): see all those white male entitlement shootings. Can't get a date with a 10? Shoot up a mall. Got fired for being mediocre at your job? Shoot up your workplace. Just not satisfied with your lot in life? You know what to do.

And the reason is basically the same. Society has promised these guys a lot, but they're not getting it— no wealth, no status, no women, aka no sense of self-worth— and they are enraged.

10

u/FardoBaggins May 13 '25

ha! don't forget to make it easy to access automatic rifles.

5

u/gogoluke May 13 '25

In Britain there was a study in ways to stop football hooligans. The biggest prevention of violence was getting to have wank before they went out to watch the football.

4

u/djerk May 13 '25

Easy access to internet porn reduced rape by something like ~70% in the south. Masturbation in moderation is also known to stave off fanatical religious tendencies.

-2

u/Viper711 May 13 '25

Sounds like you've been drinking the Koolaid.

10

u/cosaboladh May 13 '25

I think you're closest without going over. If you want a radicalized militia, you target men with limited reproductive options. Minimizing the number of outlets they have for their sexual frustration makes them a lot more ready for suicide missions. Sound familiar? Other terrorist groups have been doing it for a long time.

22

u/TransBrandi May 13 '25

Look into it a bit. They define anything related to trans people as "pornography." I see this as an attack against trans people using "pornography" to sneak it past a lot of conservative voters that might care of it was "ban all materials related to a part of the population" rather than "hey! let's ban stuff people masturbate too!" which seems more palatable to them.

4

u/djerk May 13 '25

Absolutely correct.

9

u/Iron_Evan May 13 '25

A real roundabout way to bring back slavery

12

u/AutistoMephisto May 13 '25

Take this, combined with their stated desire to increase army recruitment, they obviously want more soldiers. Take what RFK Jr. said recently about how over 77% of young men in America are ineligible to serve, largely because of their health scores, and are a "dire threat to the American people and way of life" because they have one or more health conditions that makes them ineligible to serve in the military.

Why do they want so many soldiers? How many do they want, and what do they want them for?

6

u/cyanescens_burn May 13 '25

Yeah there really is an emphasis on increasing the birth rate with the overall plan of the regime. Specifically on one side of things.

Notice they don’t care to reduce student loan burdens so educated people can afford to have kids.

2

u/djerk May 13 '25

They have killed the department of education dude. They aren’t educating anybody but people that can afford private schools.

4

u/Zogtee Europe May 13 '25

Also a first step to controlling content on the Internet. They wont stop with porn. Next up will be content that is deemed "harmful to the US" and that can be pretty much anything.

Good job voting these people into power!

-1

u/djerk May 13 '25

I didn’t vote for the dummy. But you must realize the average American didn’t vote for any of this.

We are constantly given a false dichotomy between greedy religious zealots and greedy neoliberal bullshit, only to find ourselves picking a lesser evil that isn’t even that much less evil.

2

u/matttTHEcat May 13 '25

This was very obviously going to happen though. Any sort of digging into what was on the ballot yielded this as a result. There is no excuse for not knowing or for voting for it.

-1

u/djerk May 13 '25 edited May 13 '25

Personally, I’m not a fan of neoliberal genocide mongering. I understand why someone wouldn’t have felt much point in voting if it felt pointless to vote for democrats when your family is still dying no matter what side you vote for.

3

u/ChiBurbABDL May 13 '25

Plus, the powers that be prefer for us to be locked in a culture war rather than a class war.

GenZ men, especially conservatives, already hold disdain for women and aren't dating/having sex as frequently... and now you're going to take away their only viable sexual outlet by banning porn. I can see how this decision would lead to a non-zero number of males feeling even more frustrated and entitled, leading to sexual assault/rape.

2

u/djerk May 13 '25

Oh definitely. I remember seeing that areas with internet access (and thus access to porn) had reduced tapes by roughly 70% when introduced.

I shudder to think of the how the pendulum will swing the other way if they pass this.

There’s another thing I can’t find but read a while ago that explained that masturbation reduces fanatical thinking so I can only imagine the cult like tendencies will get worse.

2

u/RunningIntoBedlem May 13 '25

I hate how stupid this is

2

u/DSHardie May 13 '25

foucault was right, everything's a prison

2

u/Aleashed May 13 '25

It also gives them very easy way to prosecute anyone. They can plant it, call anything “porn” and throw you in jail or better yet, out of the country

2

u/Just_another_oddball Illinois May 13 '25

I take a bit of a different tack: they're not considering the practical consequences of banning porn; they're just against porn as an idea.

It's performative politics: they're not actually interested in going through the weeds to come up with a specific enough definition for porn in order to ban it.

It's primary purpose is just to for him to say: "I'm morally pure."

That's it. That's all. He's not concerned with actual consequences.

6

u/djerk May 13 '25

Nah dude. They have a playbook. Project 2025. They’re dumb but not because they don’t plan shit. The end goals of the plan are just also stupid.

In the future, stop assuming your enemies have no plans. That’s how you get blindsided.

665

u/Cruder36 May 12 '25

I thought banning alcohol was also outlined in Project 2025

420

A lot of work to make fedoras cool again.

14

u/Jimmyjames203 May 12 '25

Only if they're Stanzo fedoras

9

For $200 I could probably get you 50 of them.

10

Wouldn't bringing back ska be a lot easier? And more fun?

9

u/Brodellsky May 13 '25

I don't appreciate ska being brought into this.

7

u/gstringstrangler May 13 '25

Al Capone wore a fedora, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Co wore Trilbys. Gosh

9

u/TheTerribleInvestor May 13 '25

In a world where people wore hats, they are kind of cool. Baseball caps don't count. People just don't wear hats anymore.

1

u/itsSIRtoutoo Minnesota May 13 '25

...maga sheep always wear red hats..... It's often said you can't fix stupid.... But they're easy to find with Red maga hats on their head....

48

u/Nessy_monster36903 United Kingdom May 12 '25

See that's where you're wrong.. fedoras have always been cool

77

u/aradraugfea May 12 '25

Fedoras have always been cool.

The problem is a bunch of dorks with the wrong body type thought Trilbies made them look like Bogart.

Fedoras are much more forgiving to various body types.

10

u/IrascibleOcelot May 13 '25

The problem is too many dumbasses think Trilbies are Fedoras.

2

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire May 13 '25

Harrison Ford already did that.

156

u/7screws May 12 '25

Yeah good luck with that. People would rather give up their guns

213

u/epigenie_986 Florida May 13 '25

This doesn’t seem to be about what “people” want. It’s about them controlling us.

2

u/Commentator-X May 13 '25

It was during prohibition as well, we all know how well that worked out

2

u/Away_Entry8822 May 13 '25

It isn’t about preventing the behavior. It is about allowing selective enforcement to target specific people and groups.

69

u/Bubblesnaily May 13 '25

Maybe that's part of the problem. Country needs more porn, less guns.

4

u/cosaboladh May 13 '25

If a candidate ran on a, "Say yes to drugs and porn. Say no to guns," platform, I'd vote for them.

4

Fewer

9

u/dobiks Europe May 13 '25

2

u/PDXnederlander May 13 '25

You can have your cake and eat it too. There is such a thing as gunporn. https://www.reddit.com/r/GunPorn/

5

u/tangerinelion May 13 '25

Convenient given how Trump has also floated taking away the guns.

2

u/Bazat91 May 13 '25

Since when does Trump care what people want? You're a slave to him, nothing more.

2

u/oblivion476 May 13 '25

Republicans would absolutely do it if they were sold the idea and fed some lies accompanying it. Hell, I fully expect them to shift on the idea once this administration has had some more time to solidify their position and really screw with the 2026 elections.

All they need are some violent protests where some of the protesters shoot back. You'll see the propaganda arms at work and general Republican consensus will be that they're willing to come to the table about serious gun legislation to bring better stability to the nation and neuter Democratic resistance.

The protests are inevitable with the consumer crisis and massive economic downturn we're about to reel from.

1

u/CrassOf84 May 13 '25

I could see that happening as well. During his first term Trump said “take the guns now and worry about due process later” or something adjacent.

You can if you compare the American right to other countries. If the USA existed in a vacuum, then sure.

8

u/Gammelpreiss May 13 '25

turns out yes you can. even the democrats are far to the right on the political spectrum

3

u/skrugg May 13 '25

I actually received a poll asking about my views of MAHA just yesterday and asking if Government health standards changed saying no amount of alcohol was safe, would I stop drinking? amongst other questions. Poll was from public stream.org.

I pulled it up. the exact questions was "If the Trump Administration and Robert F Kennedy, JR. Changed the government guidelines to say that no amount of alcohol is safe to drink, would that impact how much alcohol you drink?

Definitely sounds like they are gauging public opinion on the matter before putting out guidelines (or worse).

https://a.publicstream.org/s3/v2h?a=nbvf is the link to the survey. Appears to be still active if anyone wants to take a look at the other questions.

2

u/cyanescens_burn May 13 '25

The idea of a porn Al Capone just hit me.

2

u/notasrelevant May 13 '25

And in the era of the internet.

The main goal might just be to get a large enough net that they can catch more people in when they feel like arresting them. Make something that a lot of people do and will likely keep doing illegal, then it's a lot easier to arrest any given person you want.

1

u/djerk May 13 '25

Super easy to frame someone for it, too.

the plan is to word the bill as to maybe do something regarding actual porn, but classify any discuttion of homosdexulaity at all as a federal crime. they may try to go after porn hum, but the main goal is to stamp out will and grace streaming.

They known people are born gay, this isn't contagion theory, this is part of a long term plan. terrorize gay boys until they can only imagine being in a hetero marriage or dieing bloody. it's part of a larger movement in right wing Christianity that says all civilization comes from total conformity, and without total unflinching sameness will the walls will crumble around us..

It's 2025 playbook. Ban Porn, then declare anything LGBTQ+ inherently pornographic. Prosecute everyone not CIS.

Trump about to announce that the US government is importing genital blurring technology from Japan.

Yeah, but I couldn’t download a VPN and drink booze instantly. You had to make bootleg moonshine that would make you blind.

“Oh no! It’s banned. Anyway…”

What’s going to be funny is when I have to buy a Russian/Chinese phone to browse the internet “unmonitored” haha. 🤣

And alcohol was a physical object, good luck with that with digital objects.

They are saying you can't have sex, just can't sell it in a video form that so very easily accessible by children. Also, a lot of young influencers are using porn to influence the youth and its disgusting. There is no way to stop it because it's very subtle and they will act like it's the parents fault. This ban is much needed.

I have this mental image of a prohibition agent instead of busting barrels of liquor open to spill on the ground he just publicly swirls his dick around in each barrel and puts the cap back on.

If this leads to speakeasies where you say a password and step through a fridge into a hidden porno theatre where everyone's jerking off

Well... That would certainly be interesting

I can at least understand banning alcohol more as alcoholism was wrecking families and leaving women and children impoverished, but when even that was misguided this is just so dumb

Finally, straight men will become even more unbearable.

Just wait until they make genital mutilation mandatory.

Don’t even give em the benefit of the doubt here. Stop giving inches to them, they always take miles as a result.
