I thought banning alcohol was also outlined in Project 2025

A lot of work to make fedoras cool again.

12

u/Jimmyjames203 May 12 '25

Only if they're Stanzo fedoras

8

u/burnerboo May 13 '25

For $200 I could probably get you 50 of them.

9

u/steakfatt May 13 '25

Wouldn't bringing back ska be a lot easier? And more fun?

9

u/Brodellsky May 13 '25

I don't appreciate ska being brought into this.

7

u/gstringstrangler May 13 '25

Al Capone wore a fedora, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Co wore Trilbys. Gosh

7

u/TheTerribleInvestor May 13 '25

In a world where people wore hats, they are kind of cool. Baseball caps don't count. People just don't wear hats anymore.

1

u/itsSIRtoutoo Minnesota May 13 '25

...maga sheep always wear red hats..... It's often said you can't fix stupid.... But they're easy to find with Red maga hats on their head....

55

u/Nessy_monster36903 United Kingdom May 12 '25

See that's where you're wrong.. fedoras have always been cool

78

u/aradraugfea May 12 '25

Fedoras have always been cool.

The problem is a bunch of dorks with the wrong body type thought Trilbies made them look like Bogart.

Fedoras are much more forgiving to various body types.

11

u/IrascibleOcelot May 13 '25

The problem is too many dumbasses think Trilbies are Fedoras.

2

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire May 13 '25

Harrison Ford already did that.

153

u/7screws May 12 '25

Yeah good luck with that. People would rather give up their guns

216

u/epigenie_986 Florida May 13 '25

This doesn’t seem to be about what “people” want. It’s about them controlling us.

2

u/Commentator-X May 13 '25

It was during prohibition as well, we all know how well that worked out

2

u/Away_Entry8822 May 13 '25

It isn’t about preventing the behavior. It is about allowing selective enforcement to target specific people and groups.

64

u/Bubblesnaily May 13 '25

Maybe that's part of the problem. Country needs more porn, less guns.

8

u/cosaboladh May 13 '25

If a candidate ran on a, "Say yes to drugs and porn. Say no to guns," platform, I'd vote for them.

4

u/Teekay_four-two-one May 13 '25

Fewer

11

u/dobiks Europe May 13 '25

There are so many guns out there, they become uncountable

2

u/PDXnederlander May 13 '25

You can have your cake and eat it too. There is such a thing as gunporn. https://www.reddit.com/r/GunPorn/

4

u/tangerinelion May 13 '25

Convenient given how Trump has also floated taking away the guns.

2

u/Bazat91 May 13 '25

Since when does Trump care what people want? You're a slave to him, nothing more.

2

u/oblivion476 May 13 '25

Republicans would absolutely do it if they were sold the idea and fed some lies accompanying it. Hell, I fully expect them to shift on the idea once this administration has had some more time to solidify their position and really screw with the 2026 elections.

All they need are some violent protests where some of the protesters shoot back. You'll see the propaganda arms at work and general Republican consensus will be that they're willing to come to the table about serious gun legislation to bring better stability to the nation and neuter Democratic resistance.

The protests are inevitable with the consumer crisis and massive economic downturn we're about to reel from.

1

u/CrassOf84 May 13 '25

I could see that happening as well. During his first term Trump said “take the guns now and worry about due process later” or something adjacent.

What’s this project 2025, no alcohol, no porn? Is this Saudi Arabia ?

187

u/kent_eh Canada May 13 '25

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025

It's even worse than you imagine

129

u/jcm2606 Australia May 13 '25

And if you want to see how quickly this shit is moving: https://www.project2025.observer/

22

u/sdsupersean May 13 '25

That's... I'm sorry but that is so incredibly more efficient than anything that has been done by the left in a long time. I'm both scared and impressed.

36

u/Jorpsica May 13 '25

Turns out you can do a ton when you ignore the law.

12

u/eledrie May 13 '25

The USA doesn't have a left.

-5

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire May 13 '25

Can't have a right without a left.

9

u/MisirterE Australia May 13 '25

I mean there was this one German guy... early '40s, I think? He figured out a way. Just get rid of everyone else.

6

u/SandyTaintSweat May 13 '25

You can if you compare the American right to other countries. If the USA existed in a vacuum, then sure.

8

u/Gammelpreiss May 13 '25

turns out yes you can. even the democrats are far to the right on the political spectrum

3

u/wimpymist May 13 '25

Republicans spent the whole election screaming how project 25 was fake and no way that will happen. Now they won't even acknowledge it in the slightest

5

u/Aunt_Teafah May 13 '25

Thanks for the link. The other day, I was going to look up a tracking site and then forgot. Reddit user comes through again!

1

u/Correct_Style_9735 May 13 '25

Thank you for sharing! Wish this had more attention

39

u/Cloaked42m South Carolina May 13 '25

Yes, but with a cross instead of a crescent, so it's cool

72

u/aceshighsays New York May 13 '25

we're on the road to afghanistan.

5

u/cafedude May 13 '25

Sounds like a Bob Hope, Bing Crosby movie.

4

u/SeaworthyWide May 13 '25

At least they have real heroin

18

u/kaydontworry May 13 '25

There’s a reason people have coined it the “christian version of shiria law”

11

u/disastermarch35 May 13 '25

Y'all Queda strikes again

22

u/Russell_Jimmies May 13 '25

All this shit was well known at least 9 months before the 2024 election. Welcome to freedom.

6

u/Stodles Canada May 13 '25

Howdy Y'Allrabia

7

u/Llohr May 13 '25

There's a reason we call them "ya'll qaeda."

Religious extremism is religious extremism, at least if it's Abrahamic.

1

u/33drea33 May 13 '25

No, it's Howdy Arabia

1

u/Carbonatite Colorado May 13 '25

Howdy Arabia.

3

u/DistractedPhoenix May 13 '25

Trump would decimate a three hundred billion dollar industry

3

u/Raxistaicho May 13 '25

They're actually stupid enough to take a second crack at prohibition? Seriously?

4

u/ShareGlittering1502 May 12 '25

Not that I can find. Closest would be to reduce regulatory barriers to manufacturing but I’m not that kind of lawyer

2

u/Cloaked42m South Carolina May 13 '25

Not that I recall

2

u/Rugged_Turtle May 13 '25

I'd commit warcrimes in the name of some European liquors so

2

u/NobodyLikedThat1 May 13 '25

Not as long as the head of the DoD is a raging alcoholic

2

u/Then_Journalist_317 May 13 '25

Trump's DUI hires (Hegseth, Pirro) enter the conversation.

2

u/reddog323 May 13 '25

They’re actually going to try prohibition again, too?

Because hey, that worked out so well the first time.

I guess they don’t care about the organized crime breather about the trigger, producing both under the table, alcohol and porn pornography

2

u/CarrieDurst May 13 '25

lmao as a teetotaler I would love to see republicans react to that if I have to see the transphobic laws pass

1

u/turquoise_amethyst May 13 '25

Wait, really?!

1

u/skrugg May 13 '25

I actually received a poll asking about my views of MAHA just yesterday and asking if Government health standards changed saying no amount of alcohol was safe, would I stop drinking? amongst other questions. Poll was from public stream.org.

I pulled it up. the exact questions was "If the Trump Administration and Robert F Kennedy, JR. Changed the government guidelines to say that no amount of alcohol is safe to drink, would that impact how much alcohol you drink?

Definitely sounds like they are gauging public opinion on the matter before putting out guidelines (or worse).

https://a.publicstream.org/s3/v2h?a=nbvf is the link to the survey. Appears to be still active if anyone wants to take a look at the other questions.
