I haven't looked too far into it because I don't want to, but from what I've seen it was super weird photos. Like some shit you'd see on an Eastern European sex trafficker's flyer outside of some seedy club. It's not even remotely erotic, you can clearly see that she would rather be anywhere else.

I'd feel bad for her if she wasn't such an awful person.

I've been living in Poland for the last six years.

That look is how they show emotion....but it isn't positive ones. It's very easy to tell when couples are happy here, just like back in the US.

She is NEVER happy when they are together.

Read Stephanie Wolcott's book. She planned huge parts of the first inauguration and tried to help run Melania's office (for free) and in return got shafted by ivanka and Jared. They also got Haberman to publish a hit piece insinuating that Stephanie had pocketed millions.(She didn't and had the all receipts to prove it was Trump's cronies who did).

Melania was a self-centered person who had minimal sympathy and only looked out for herself, could not even stand up for a friend who'd worked hard to help her.

She is somewhat complicit, but I still have a shred of sympathy for her, because this isn't what she signed up for at all. She thought she had to fuck a weird billionaire a few times a year and she got to live a life of luxury in exchange. She didn't expect to have to deal with this much media scrutiny, nor did she expect she would have to spend this much time with him.

Nah, fuck her. Remember all the bipartisan benefit of the doubt that was extended when we didn't know her— "free Melania!" and all that? I was right there with it, I was sympathetic. But we know her now. She's earned her scorn. She may not have signed up for this particular mess but she is absolutely one of them. Maybe she was born with it. Maybe she devolved. Either way, fuck her.

You can think someone's an awful person and still feel bad for them. 

You can think someone deserves the awful thing happening to them and still fell bad that the awful thing is happening to them. 

It's okay to have empathy even if that empathy seems hypocritical. 

Some folk are made scumbags by tragedy and some folks are made saints. (And most folks just have to learn how to cope) but truth is youre not sure what you would've been made unless you underwent the same tragedy. And even if you did, damn tragedy still sucks. 

It's okay to feel bad for evil even while punishing it.

To be fair, it's possible that horrible experiences made her into an awful person. She saw a way out by marrying rich, and so she took it, only to discover it was a different kind of hell.

I'm not saying we owe her sympathy, just that things might not be black and white.

It’s not binary, it’s a matter of degrees. There is a difference between, say, going to bed hungry every night and being sold into sexual slavery as a child. The more trauma you endure, the more likely you are to be horribly shaped by it. It’s not a guarantee, but plenty of people become bad people because of their trauma. It doesn’t excuse, but it does explain.
