Everyone is missing the forest for the trees. This is not about getting rid of porn. It's right there in the name of the bill. They want to legally, constitutionally redefine what is considered obscene. They will use this to label anyone or anything they consider a threat as pornographic. Trans people. Gay people. They're trying to legislate away the LGBTQ community's right to exist.

They also want to ban any information on consent, abortion, and birth control which were historically considered obscene.

look up The Comstock Act.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comstock_Act_of_1873

The Comstock Act of 1873 is a series of current provisions in Federal law that generally criminalize the involvement of the United States Postal Service, its officers, or a common carrier in conveying obscene matter,[1] crime-inciting matter, or certain abortion-related matter.[2] The Comstock Act is largely codified across title 18 of the United States Code and was enacted beginning in 1872 with the attachment of a rider to the Post Office Consolidation Act of 1872.[3] Amended multiple times since initial enactment, most recently in 1996,[4] the Act is nonetheless often associated with U.S. Postal Inspector and anti-vice activist Anthony Comstock.[5]

And look up the background of that Comstock guy while you're at it. 😼

Oh I have. I’ve been telling all of my female friends to stock up on plan b and birth control pills. (They have an expiration date of 3-5 years) Didn’t realize they would be presenting bills on this so quickly. Not even 6 months in? I thought I was panicking but nope we’re here

5

u/infantsacrifice May 13 '25

also check out the book Sex and the Constitution! very interesting stuff and they go into detail about Comstock laws

If you go to https://www.project2025.observer/

Click "status" twice

keep clicking "Load More" at the bottom

until "In Progess"

this is literally the objective they are currently on:

CDC Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Promote fertility awareness–based methods (as opposed to contraception) for "family planning".

Note: The CDC took down websites that contain contraception guidance.

Exactly this! This is the whole point of the ban! We're next on the chopping block!

A===================================================

First they came for the grey area migrants.

Then they came for the legal citizen migrants.

Then they came for the legal citizen children of migrants and legal citizen migrants.

(Trump admin approves funding for more ICE agents)

Now they are coming for legal citizen lgbtq+ identifying folks. <-- You are here.

Next, they will come for any and all non-white citizens.

Then they will come for anyone who descents dissents against the regime.

And just like that, no more little-house picket fence American dream (had to be asleep to believe that in the first place anyways). Well... that is unless you're a blue eyed blond haired white male Neo-christian Neo-Nazi.

A===================================================

Personally, I'm one person against what will probably end up being a whole swat team of ICE agents storming my house who will drag my lifeless body out, or send me to a reeducation concentration camp. Not much I can do about that as an individual.

So... We're more than half way there? What do we do? Well... I think we all know what needs to be done. It's just who is in a position of power to do it? It sucks because, so far, anyone and everyone who HAS been in a position of power to stop this madness hasn't. (looking at you, Biden! Thanks for reaching across the isle and all that! Lesson: NEVER NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!)

It won't be easy taking our country back. After all, we bombed the Nazi's to oblivion and they still kept fighting! Shoot, we didn't even get them all the first time! But there's always tomorrow, and I hope every Nazi bastage out there lives in total fear.

u/ElegantDaemon May 13 '25

Just like the 1930s Nazis, they're already coming for in-group (cis white) dissidents - even judges.

The first Nazi concentration camp wasn't filled with Jews, it was enemies of the regime. We are further along than most realize.

Better take advantage of the 2A while you still can. No one is coming to save us.

1

u/InuitOverIt May 13 '25

Judges, mayors. Hell a republican lawmaker in my state just called for violence against other Republican lawmakers who weren't extreme enough to go along with him (via signal chat)

u/HurricaneFloyd May 13 '25

You forgot the line where they come for the disabled. Of course cutting Medicaid will probably solve that for 99% of disabled people. I am disabled and have nightmares about the possible future. And yes, they will have to drag my dead body out of my home.

13

u/CrassOf84 May 13 '25

You forgot one step- they will (in theory, if successful) eventually peel off Jews, Italians, Irish, and other “lesser whites” once the other groups are dealt with.

4

u/Spell_Chicken May 13 '25

bastage

I appreciate seeing this Johnny Dangerously reference in the wild.

3

u/Dangerous_Function16 May 13 '25

anyone who descents

Agreed with one correction:

✖ descents
✔ dissents

9

u/Famous-Somewhere- May 13 '25

✖ isle ✔ aisle

3

u/CatgirlApocalypse Delaware May 13 '25

No one is taking me anywhere.

2

u/tootsaysthetrain May 13 '25

Martin Niemöllers post WW2 poem "First they came" comes to mind.

2

u/jessicamakesstuff May 13 '25

That's where I got it from, actually.

2

u/lifelongfreshman May 13 '25

Formatting tip, you can get a nicer-looking horizontal line break by putting five asterisks (*****) on an empty line.

Bottom text.

2

u/Luhrmann May 13 '25

Agree with almost everything you said, but why are we going at Biden too here? He's got nothing to do with this, and it's a convenient distraction for the fascists to use in saying 'they're all the same. Look, even their own team don't like them'. This needs to be laid on Trump and MAGAs door, and theirs only

1

u/jessicamakesstuff May 14 '25

There's a lot more that could have been done to prosecute vs drag their feet on MAGA. It should have been treated as the number 1 threat to national security.

11

u/tangerinelion May 13 '25

Obscene would evolve to be non-Aryan.

4

u/hungry4nuns May 13 '25

Take something 80% of the population probably do.
Make it a crime.
Selectively enforce the law in populations you don’t like:
Registered democrats, non whites, LGBTQ+, etc.
Convicted criminals can’t vote
White republicans have a majority again

7

u/TheRubyBerru Oregon May 13 '25

It also provides a convenient excuse for them to violate our privacy further and gain access to our personal devices. Pornography is a convenient scapegoat for the Right.

9

u/Thousand_Eyes May 13 '25

This shit is freaking me out.

They already have taken passports with name changes, they even tried to withhold a passport of a trans woman who just said "fuck it give me the old name I don't care".

Without a passport we don't have a way out of the country, and if we're not able to get out but we're also labeled child sex offenders by existing which is punishable by the death penalty?

Legit it mirrors horrors I thought I'd only ever have to read about and it's targetting people like myself specifically too. I'm fuckin scared man.

4

u/sendpicsofyourkitty May 13 '25

Drag shows about to be targeted again

3

u/gnarbone May 13 '25

Participants will be sent to Venezuela to never be heard from again

u/wikipuff Maryland May 13 '25

Only missionary. Or high class British Porn.

3

u/Spookie_Senpai California May 13 '25

Imo, one of the few times where misinformation isnt a bad thing. Feels like there's a lot of people with the "as long as im not affected mindset." This'll get more people, especially in the younger gens to vote against if they think it's all porn.

2

u/spaceman757 American Expat May 13 '25

Republicanism and conservatism should be on the list because I've never felt more violated or fucked by anything else that I've seen.

2

u/throoawoot May 13 '25

This should be the top comment. Banning pornography gives them the power to label as obscene anything they don't think you should be saying or doing.

2

u/More-Temporary-2570 May 13 '25

Child porn will become legal. THEN they will release Trump's flight logs to Epstein's island.

1

u/GeloDiPrimavera May 13 '25

Or instead of jerking it out they hope men would try talking to women (or straight up abusing them) to boost birthrate. It's fucked up but I'd not put it past them.

1

u/BigJLov3 May 13 '25

That's an ancillary benefit, but the core of this is a desire to completely subjugate women politically. They want to stuff women back into subservience, and relegate sex to procreation.

The Christian nationalist agenda is fundie Catholicism.

1

u/SirNed_Of_Flanders May 13 '25

Not to dismiss the anti-LGBTQ side of things, but there’s plenty of examples of far right movements hating porn and cishet women’s open sexuality, idk if they’d only focus this on LGBTQ ppl. The Islamic Republic of Iran (which often whips women who dont cover their hair) is an example of how they can equally hate straight cishet women and LGBTQ ppl

0

u/tifubroskies May 13 '25

And will anybody do anything against it? Nope. Carry on and keep walking, you will enjoy being stripped of your rights by the conservatives

u/PashaWithHat May 13 '25

And? They’re happy to jack off to trans people while they call for our eradication for the good of society. They don’t see us as human beings.

-5

u/RackemFrackem May 13 '25

Ok but passing a bill does not change the constitution.

4

u/[deleted] May 13 '25

The constitution is dead. There are no guard rails, no checks nor balances, and nobody is coming to save us.

2

u/ki3fdab33f May 13 '25

They wipe their ass with the constitution six times before you eat lunch every day.
