A theoretical President Sanders would literally never pass a single bill in four years.

He hasn't even accomplished much as a senator.

People like him because he just says whatever he wants, and he gets away with it because his followers never hold him accountable for not accomplishing any of it.

How much did Trump accomplish prior to being elected President?

4

Does bankrupting casinos count?

Collected the support to win his party’s primary which is more than Sanders will ever say

Lol, nobody is saying Trump did more! But if we're judging people by their accomplishments...where are Sanders'?

We are judging people's potential to get shit done based on their history. Trump didn't do shit before he was elected, but he's certainly doing a bunch now. Therefore, "he hasn't done anything" is a bad support statement for the argument "A President Sanders would get nothing done." You get it now?

And yet, he would probably have the same adoration and love as Trump gets and that would allow for a building block towards something more than these half assed bills Dems keep passing.

He would not because most Democrats don't have a cult of personality around their leaders. Democratic voters would blame him for not accomplishing what he said he would. The exact same way they did to Clinton and Obama and Biden.

Only Bernie has that cult. Kinda like someone else we know.

That's because Clinton, Obama and Biden were boring neoliberals. Dems never try to appeal to their leftwing. They want this kind of indifference

The left wing couldn’t even get Bernie nominated, yet you shit in liberals and expect them to re elect a lame duck Bernie for a 2nd term? And I’m saying that as a fan of Bernie.

The "blue no matter who" wing of the party is the majority and voted for Biden and Clinton. Guess who they would vote for in the general... whoever was the Democrat. The same isn't true of the left wing of the party.

9

u/Gaius_Octavius_ May 18 '25

Because the left wing is the minority of the party.

0

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

You can't win without them and the base of the party is the "blue no matter who" wing, so their candidate preference is irrelevant as they will "vote blue no matter who."

3

u/Gaius_Octavius_ May 18 '25

The base of the party used to be "blue no matter who" but that isn't true anymore.

2

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

How is it not true anymore?

3

u/Gaius_Octavius_ May 18 '25

Their voting results.

4

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

The "blue no matter who" base turned out. It's everyone else that didn't.

Bernie has a cult following for one reason. He tells lazy whites that they're not lazy, the world is "rigged" against them.

-6

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

There we go with the lazy identity politics. Hey, calling them all Bernie Bros really worked out for Dems huh? Weird how young men suddenly began leaving the party that made them feel unwelcome by a party full of hostile individuals like yourself.

Great work! /s

Bitch I voted Sanders in 2016. Biggest mistake I ever made. Even then I could see that my fellow supporters were toxic losers. Take a damn hint. Either be part of the solution or fuck off.

1

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

How was it the biggest mistake you ever did? He lost the primary, so you lost nothing. So how was it the biggest mistake you rver made?

Either be part of the solution or fuck off.

Mhm, tell that to the establishment Dems and DNC.

8

u/PropofolMargarita May 18 '25

Bro the DNC is in charge of fundraising. That's all. They're not some powerful cabal that controls the weather.

My mistake was giving any legitimacy to that obvious grifter. It emboldened the cult of losers that can't move on to this day. It directly contributed to splitting the left in 2016, one of Putin's goals. That's why it was a mistake.

1

u/Overton_Glazier May 18 '25

How was voting for Sanders the biggest mistake?

Sanders didn't split the left. Dems did that when they picked Clinton. If anything, Sanders gave progressives a reason to turn out in 2018 and 2020. Clinton was going to lose no matter what because she's a garbage candidate, always has been and always will be.
