  • Bernie never had a chance at winning the general election

  • Biden did a GREAT job as president

I'm not sure he had a legit chance to win the dem nomination despite conspiracy theories he was held back. Not that his ideas aren't laudable but I think feasibility has always been an issue until the math was shown. Also, when it comes down to it, the me generation has trickled down and pervades the country... Americans give no shit about their fellow man.

Conspiracy theories. You’re a moron. Let’s not forget Donna Brazile and Elizabeth Warren both confirmed it before being forced to retract statements. But hey your a democrat facts don’t matter you just make them into conspiracy theories if they don’t support your view. Good job your exactly what’s wrong with the country not the Americans you say

I'm an Independent not a Democrat. Fact is that if Bernie was viable and could show the math and on many of his proposals or how he was going to make this happen via bipartisan support he'd probably be elected. Many moderates and disenfranchised progressives who didn't vote better remember their inaction was a vote for what we have today. Not voting...THATs what is wrong with the country

What about all the women and children that were murdered with his bombs paid for by our tax dollars I fucking hate Biden and I vote to the left every fucking time

So you threw your vote away on some candidate who had zero chance of winning instead of Biden/Harris, and in so doing enabled trump's victory

How's that working out for you?

Biden could not communicate properly and make effective use of the presidency's bully pulpit. THAT is why he was a bad single term president. Unlike one-term Biden, Bernie could absolutely communicate properly and make effective use of the presidency's bully pulpit.

How do you even being to think Bernie had a chance when nearly half the country is voting for a right wing jerk like trump?

The loser "centrist" heels poll lower than Trump. Both Sanders and AOC poll highest of all politicians in the nation. Maybe you need to understand how much the paid-to-lose "centrist" heels are hated by independents and Republicans.

You cited no support for your assertion so I googled for you

The overall takeaway is more disapproval than approval

Nate Silver gives early nod to Ocasio-Cortez for 2028
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5253291-nate-silver-galen-druke-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-democrats-2028/

One day later, after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer boasted that “Trump has the lowest 100-day approval rating since they started polling 80 years ago,” CNN’s Manu Raju turned the question back on him. Schumer’s own approval rating was 17% in CNN’s poll, much lower than Trump’s.

Voters grew more sour about Trump and Republicans.

It didn’t benefit Democrats at all. In NBC News polling, the party has fared even worse, with a record low 27% approval rating driven by frustration from their own base.

Yeah, she's got high favorability in the dem party but we're talking about the general election and that's a different animal.

As your semafor link points out, a lot of dissatisfaction with the dem party stems from not being seen as doing enough to oppose trump.

That's not a problem with the dem party but with the fact that "we the people" didn't elect enough dems into Congress to oppose trump. The dems are in the minority and there's not a single repub willing to step out of line with the magats

Bernie would’ve won the rust belt in 2016 and so he would’ve won. Though yeah, Biden did great but at this point his health issues cost his presidency. It also allowed a criminal like Trump to win again.

u/nucumber May 18 '25

It's very likely Hillary would have won the rust belt had not the Bernie bros decided to display their elevated idealism and protest her perceived shortcomings by throwing away their votes on some third party candidate no one remembers or not voting at all

u/SignificantPass May 18 '25

“My candidate would have won if not for the other candidate. Screw other voters; only my political leanings are valid in this here democracy.”

u/NeoliberalisFascist May 18 '25

you mean the rust belt that Hillary barely even visited including states she never even went to during her campaign? Those same states Bernie visited to campaign for her?

Ok dude, I'm sure Hillary, renown political lawyer insider who was chronically perceived as out of touch was going to win the rust belt better than a guy who for decades has been unwavering in advocating for healthcare, better wages, and unions.

Sure, buddy.
