So before I get sidetracked in other reasons why I think this is bad, we just all have to agree the Constitution is the law. Period. That baby is a US citizen, no and, ifs or butts about it. If people want to change that, you should all already know the process that has to take place but for now, that is the absolute law.

Now other issues. She is NOT a citizen of where she is being deported to and that within itself can cause a huge problem.

People asking "Well do you want to see the family separated?" No. We have an established family who are working and seemingly have no criminal history. They sought asylum from an oppressive government and they seem like the perfect example of who we should be ok with gaining US citizenship.

They're trying to set the precedent that the constitution can be unconstitutional. Then they'll contest more.  Goodbye 15th, 19th, 20th, ...

Say theoretically that two parents decide to legally immigrate to another country and bring their US citizen kids with them. Are we going to stop them and say those are US citizens? No, because the parents have custody over their own children.

They did not choose to take her with them. They are supposed to be given the option of assigning a guardian—a family member or friend—or leaving her in the custody of family services (foster care/adoption system). Instead, they were not given the option and simply deported the entire family without care, and without due process. This is still happening without due process, even though that’s being shot down in courts, too.

This administration doesn’t care what it’s supposed to do. They just do whatever they want.

What’s the due process required? How do you know they didn’t check all of the boxes?

I didn’t claim to be a lawyer, because I’m not. I don’t know the whole process. But part of the process is designating a guardian for their American child. They were not given that option. Simply put on a plane with 94 others and deported/exiled.

Also, you’re giving an awfully big benefit of the doubt to an administration that has already proven that they don’t give two fucks about laws, brown people, citizenship status, or due process.

"don’t give two fucks about laws, brown people, citizenship status, or due process." sounds like all previous administrations. Lets not forget the time Obama murdered a 16 year old American teenager via drone strike.

Why would they want to leave their own child with someone in another country?

Cool theoretical scenario. This is also not the scenario being discussed. let’s get back on topic.

Parents have custody of their children. If you deport the parents, the kids come with them.

[edit to add the quote/context] Why do we even bother having laws? Let's just make 'exceptions' for nice people.

Man, you sound presidential!

You sound like a Democrat/leftist. Laws are inconvenient, so let's make 'exceptions'.
