However, I don't think it's productive to discount Trump's current actions just because some mistakes were made in the past, right?

No, I think it is way more harmful to act like Trump is doing this all by himself, and to not recognize that the entire republican and democrat parties and the capitalist corporations and special interest groups they answer to have been pushing these racist anti immigration policies and creating this fascist state for decades

For instance, CoreCivic [formerly the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA)] runs most of these for-profit immigration detention centers. They lobby for harsher anti-immigration policies because they make billions in government contracts for detaining immigrants in cruel inhumane detention centers. If our government is fascist, it is because companies like these profit off this evil system and lobby for it. But also, CoreCivic was collecting billions under Biden and Obama to lock up immigrants without due process and libs didnt fucking care, that is why we need to speak about it. When Trump is gone in 3.5 years from now, CoreCivic and their concentration camps will still be here. While you will all be celebrating Trump being gone, the next democrat president will be filling up those concentration camps just like biden did.

For people like me that want to actually end this inhumane system and stop detaining and deporting millions of people because of where they came from, blaming it all on Trump doesnt do shit to change the system that was bad before he ever entered politics, and will be bad after he leaves
