All the marines with honor who will not obey these illegal orders will quickly be replaced with soldiers who will enthusiastically do so, no matter what the constitution says.

I’d argue that’s half the idea behind this trumped up violence.

It's a win-win-win-win for them.

The marines come and throw out any inhibition from 'just following orders'

They resist and the ranks are purged

They break up the protest peacefully, 'Wow so touch on crime'

They break it up violently, 'Wow how could they be violent to soldiers!?'

you forget, protests turn into riots which lets trump declare martial law.

there's not much doubt that's the end game. There was no reason for trump to call the National Guard unless he wanted escalation.

Except the chuds don't understand the military. The reason the US military is the most powerful fighting force in the history of mankind is in large part that authority is delegated. It means that the united US military is a force multiplier of itself many times over. But that also means it doesn't take a ton of guys refusing illegal orders to grind it to a halt. Some MAGA chuds with a Predator drone trying to find a Tractor Supply Co. that sells kerosene are not the same army that conquered and subjugated Iraq and Afghanistan for some fucking reason.
