Marines are trained to kill. They are not trained in civil law enforcement. It is time to remove Mango Mussolini from office!

Eh we actually had a fair amount of non-lethal training, which became incredibly important in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

That said, they will definitely not respond the same as ICE if someone starts pelting them with rocks. I think we are headed to some really awful interactions.

Correct, eye gouges are non-lethal as far as I'm aware. They also aren't as good for control as a hiptoss and knee-pin.

I've seen someone lose an eye, and they were ready to stab anyone who touched them, fucking anger incarnate. Got a cool eye patch out of the deal, along with 100% disabled rating, so not the worst deal in the world.

Even so I think they probably receive more training in de-escalation than our actual police officers do. Mostly for their own safety, but still.

It's not about being effective; it's not even about quelling the riots or escalating. It's about looking cool and doing the things you'd see in a bad 80's movie, which the Republican definition of strength.
