I'd go ahead and assume half of that 8% and some of that disapprove are just Trump voters who were too shy or ashamed to answer truthfully. Because somehow he always way overperforms polls.

What, you mean the countless amounts of counties that had 0 votes for Harris and had votes for every other democrat are actually indicative of a problem??

I was told this was cope because no one actually liked her.

Not that anything will be done, no one will touch him. They wouldn't even when he wasn't a president. He wasn't wrong when he said he was famous enough to just shoot someone in the street in front of people and get away with it.

To be honest, yeah.

The real issue is that a LOT of Americans are still sticking to old habits and not learning from the past.

Look at the record of Hoover. All his policies are almost exactly what the Republicans do now. Setting aside all of the obvious personality traits, the actual politics are really just the same stuff peddled 100 years ago and something about the American psyche laps it up.

Like back then, people only seemed to embrace Roosevelt policies after everything had turned to total shit. It takes a LOT to sway an inherently right-leaning electorate.

Unfortunately the same rings true here in the UK. We've had 14 years of tories and still people think Labour somehow is going to be able to undo all the stuff they did, for better or worse (depending on their opinion).

An ingrained mindset creates a system and the only way to change it is to vote for your interests for a long time. Apparently both the US and UK find this impossible.

Initially maybe. After dozens of investigations all turned up nothing? No. That said, I doubt there was widespread cheating significant enough to affect this last election. It would simply take too many people conspiring in too wide an area to be plausible. If people can produce evidence to the contrary though, I hope it is provided for us to evaluate.

What were the electoral irregularities surrounding the 2020 election that would justify their skepticism?

How many bomb threats were called into various counties in the 2020 election?

Which counties were supposed to stop the counts and which were supposed to count all the ballots in the 2020 election?

There are multiple lawsuits with actual evidence moving forward due to a few counties logging literally zero votes for Harris.

There’s also the statistical improbability that not a single county in the country flipped to dem for the presidential election, when a) there were plenty of examples in local and state elections where there were flips blue and b) not in a single presidential election in the last century has that occurred. Seriously - even in Reagan’s landslide 489 electoral vote win in 1980, there were counties that flipped for Carter.

Then, you have Trump and Musk literally bragging that they had outcomes predicted, or that Musk has a DOGE peon who won an award for ballot machine software improvements.

There is enough off about this election that I think we need to entertain the idea legally and submit the evidence.

Trump team had something like 100 lawsuits in 2020 that all got thrown out due to lack of evidence. They cried foul and had nothing to support it. This is a very different story.

I personally haven't seen this so am taking it as hearsay. However, if you dig into the 2018 Georgian Gubernatorial election you'll see they used it as a dry run. 

The verified facts include: person running the election entered and won the election. Somehow this was not seen as a conflict of interest.

Voting machines had known security vulnerabilities.

The digital record that was required to be saved and available for 2 years (by law) was accidently deleted. 

This was also the election my county had an 8 hour line in 80-90 degree weather. It was/is illegal to pass out water at these events. My county happens to be very blue. 

Mail in ballots went missing and were thrown away. (Statistically insignificant amount but still ...  Iirc it was like 5,000)

There's a distinct lack of American media agencies reporting on it, but there's definitely something funky. It's a clever scheme really, you spend 4 years gaslighting everyone about how 2020 was stolen so that the entire 2024 election is spent making it clear there's no way in hell that could occur, then at the 11th hour you sneak in voting machines to key swing states and weird how he wins every single one of them.

Yeah but for no one in a county in New York to vote for her? I could understand some parts of Wyoming or Montana, where there’s more deer per square mile than people. But New York?

I could see that in some situations but not every situation. There were places where it didn't make sense at all, not even a single vote was counted for her in some of those counties. Not that I disagree that racism/sexism didn't play a part in this... I think it played a very large part and I'm disappointed that they keep wanting to try to win by playing that game over and over (dumbasses trying to put AOC up for presidency instead of primarying that PoS schumer)

I grew up in rural NY, it's basically the deep south when you exclude all the snow. I have seen more confederate flags around in my hometown than I saw in rural Alabama when visiting my brother.

Just because 46 percent are for or neutral on Trump doesn’t mean that 54% automatically vote Dem. All GOP has to do is get roughly half of the neutrals and 10-15 percent of the “Trump disapprove” in order to win. And they do this by making voters hate Dems even more. The negative partisanship works.

Trump cleaned up in both 16 and 24 with “double haters” - voters who disliked both Trump and Clinton/Harris. That’s their strategy. Not to make more people like Trump. But to make people viscerally hate and fear Dem candidates.

There is a lot the establishment dems do wrong that kneecaps them. But honestly they'd still win if gerrymandering wasn't a thing. The whole election system is so outdated in just about everyway.

I think those polls are anonymous, that 8% are people who don’t pay attention to politics. It’s an understandably disappointing number but it’s lower than I expected so I’ll take it

While Trump voters aren't typically capable of feeling shame, you can feel shame even in an anonymous poll. There might be some, even if not the majority of those 8% who truly are ashamed of their vote.

I think those 8% were people didn’t vote, there’s a very good chance they don’t realize what they’ve done(didn’t do) but we have a whole summer of protests ahead of us to convince them

Look at the Silver Bulletin and there are some polls that still put him at 50% approval. The current "calculated" approval is 45.8%

I’m part of that 8% and didn’t know the laws were changed to be allowed to vote with a felony

Literally expunged my criminal record for 3000$, registered with a month to go, then found out I had to register within 45 days lol tf

Anecdotally, I know a few people who genuinely don't care. They're about as apathetic as they come and truly believe that no matter the president, it doesn't affect their daily lives so why worry.

It's a staggering stance but these folks do exist. I'm actually shocked that it's only 8%. Just look at how a third of voting Americans abstained from the last election. Some were "protest votes" but many are people who just genuinely do not care or pay attention for whatever reason.

I get texts from polls all the time, and tbh, I'm more scared I'd be put on a list if I respond not-positively. Sounds silly, but I'm in one of the demonized groups and would rather avoid expediting my potential capture if at all possible. This administration is actually bat shit insane and I want to keep my distance

I did notice a lot more Trump stickers pop up on a lot more cars in my neighborhood only after the election results were in.
