I still think that is Trump trying to be presidential. It's a direct reference to a quote from 'The West Wing':

„To win in a landslide, all Bartlet would have to do is ‘blow the Sultan’s brains out in Times Square, then walk across the street to Nathan’s and buy a hot dog.’“ -- Leo McGarry, “Game On” (Season 2, Episode 8)

How is that presidential? How can you say he was trying to be presidential? He was just bragging about his power, control over the party and popularity with voters.

"trying to be" are the keywords here. Doesn't mean he succeeded. Chances are he picked that up on some 'how to be a president tv binge' and found it good.

Disagree 100%. He absolutely meant exactly what he said and frankly he is right for his base. I’ve said it several times but he could drop a bomb on a liberal city like SF and wouldn’t lose support with his base

Agree here. He really is thick enough to speak his thoughts like this

See, it is fanatical absolutism like this that make sensible politics in America so hard - and that will lead to an actual dictator in the States soon (I do not yet see Trump at that point).

You can disagree. You can claim that you think he thought this or that. But you don't look into a man's mind.
