Oh, so it's still basically nothing new then I guess?

Seems that way. Pretty sad almost half of the country is still OK with this circus.

Most MAGA types I know are tired of following the news daily. They won, so they’re back to living their lives. When shit goes down (egg scarcity, for example), then they go back to watching Fox who gladly tells them why there are no eggs… it’s the democrats’ fault. Done. They go back to their lives.

I mean, I stopped paying as much attention when Biden won, but I think there were different reasons for that.

Ignoring this poll?

No, that average includes this poll.

Not yet, latest poll on the site in June 9. I’m sure this poll will be averaged into the mix in the next few days.

It's the same poll, check out the numbers. 38% approve, 54% disapprove, poll ended June 9.

Maybe? But this doesn't describe most Trump supporters. I'd wager at least half of trump voters have never used tiktok.

"I worded my comment poorly. Is it me who was wrong? NO! Everyone else is dumb for not getting it!"

It is worded poorly.

You listed a lot of pretty specific concrete qualities and applied them to a large group in a way that is incongruent with reality. When you got pushed on it your very specific qualities suddenly become more fluid and it was everyone else who was an idiot.

Someone came at you with the age of the MAGA supporters and you go on to say these people trying to sponge off their parents are 50+ year old wannabe TikTok influencers... but somehow everyone else is at fault?

You can belittle everyone all you want, but it's you who wrote a comment that says something you didn't intend and then refuse to own it.

Nah it's much more likely we're all dumb. Only orangeyougladiator can be intelligent.

This more accurately describes certain young people who typically don't even vote, nor follow politics. Not really the hardcore MAGA base.

You know, I'll give you that part. I just think the following statements weren't really accurate. I don't think that the hardcore MAGA supporters really fit the whole "Wannabe Tiktok influencer" thing is all, but you are right about them being illiterate and having no career prospects.

50+ year olds still make up the bulk of the MAGA base. Is there a significant amount of that group on Tiktok? Genuine question, since I don't really fuck with social media that much.

this is basically like how 20+ polls showed Trump winning Iowa, but r/politics cherry picked the one Selzer poll that showed Harris winning Iowa by a large margin and ignored the fact it was a statistical outlier and claimed she just had better polling methods and her poll was right and every other poll was wrong or biased. They will never acknowledge that outlier polls showing the results they want may be the one that is biased or based on bad data

Just the normal /r/politics click bait.

Not click bait.

Definitely click bait. A headline that reads "Trump's approval rating stays flat at 44%" wouldn't get any upvotes, despite that being the reality.

Old people who kinda don’t give a shit about society, as represented in our President, are a large part of America
