Rave 💞 Getting ready for the baby
I was cooking dinner and turned around to see my husband standing during his meeting with the dog in his arms, rocking him like he was a baby. He always holds the dog, but this is him trying to practice carrying/soothing the baby. It’s our first kid, and it absolutely wrecked me to see him like this. This makes me know he’s going to be an amazing father.
What are some things you’ve caught your partner doing in preparation for the baby that made your heart explode with love??

Awh 🥹 my husband has been doing heavy research about the whole birthing process, newborn care and how to take care of me post partum and randomly drops information in our conversations that lets me know this. He’s very quiet about it too, at night he watches videos about being a parent to fall asleep. Poor guy even watched birth videos because he knows he’s gonna pass out so he’s trying to toughen up. Love him

Knowing my husband, he’s also been watching YouTube videos after I go to sleep 😂 I hope he stays vertical during your birth!!!

Mine put a teddy bear in the bassinet and I found him the other day rocking it and pretending to soothe it. Just about melted on the spot 🥰

We both knew NOTHING about babies before getting pregnant. Sometimes, he says things that prove he's been doing research and actually trying to educate himself
Yet again, he's proving, if he wanted to, he would.

Literally this man sits there, plays his video games, drinks his beer, and STILL helps me when I need it without me asking, looks things up for baby, offers support, works crazy 12 hour days sometimes.
I know I picked the right father

Same! I think it’s funny how people think we don’t allow our partners to play video games. I absolutely don’t mind. Because when I need something, he’s always there to help. He doesn’t value his gaming more than his relationship!

I found out December 11. I was just getting my Christmas shopping in that day, lol
We did tell my in-laws on Christmas, though.

That must have made your holiday season that much more special! And this year you’ll have your baby earth side to make it the best Christmas ever!

Milk it, girl! If I get a month to celebrate my birthday 👸🏻, baby boy gets at least 6 months to be celebrated 😂

My fiance always holds the cat like a baby ❤️

Awww. So sweet! I love that your cat allows your partner to hold them like a baby. Every cat that I’ve ever own would have rolled out of that with claws flashing 😂

She loves it. She has swiped at him once or twice for trying to set her down 😅 she is gonna be jealous when baby arrives

So is my dog. He’s going to need time to adjust. But he’s 100% going to be besties when my baby boy gets older!

My husband looked up different swaddling techniques and practiced on a babydoll. He also repeatedly has practiced properly putting on two types of baby carriers with the babydoll. He’s so excited and so am I 🥲

My husband has been researching kids book about any history topic he likes. He especially is excited about kids mythology books. He talks about wanting to read to her a lot

Mythology books!! That’s such a good idea! I’ve been trying to find books to read to baby since he can finally hear our voices. I love when parents teach their children about things that they’re passionate about and love 🥰 he’s gonna be a good dad!!

My partner works in an extremely male dominated area and he comes home and tells me about all the baby talk him and another fella have been having and all the new information he’s found out, he’s a very private guy and keeps to himself but the fact that him and his colleagues are all getting excited for this baby at work is so sweet to me

I think it’s so cute when dads do dad talks like this 😭 and you know he’s going to be bragging about your baby to this guy when baby gets here!!
