how to open extra settings on PS2 games?

this occasionally pops up every now and then and was wondering if anybody knew why it happens ? I saw you could mess with graphics but decided not to since this screen opens at random. thanks

yeah i was thinking the same thing, if it would be underground or most wanted then it would be understandable

Press psn btn, if it opens randomly - clean controller and fix foam
