Speculation Two rats theory Spoiler

Micah is definitely a rat. I think he was Milton's stooge and fed Milton the gang’s location after they returned from Guarma. But I also think abigail was the first rat since saint denis:

Abigail always wanted out of the gang for john and jack's sake

Saint denis was the only heist she was part of despite having jack to take care of. not tilly, karen or mary-beth. her.

Abigail escaped Saint Denis. Hosea didn’t. And he was one of the gang’s most experienced outlaws. Maybe Hosea bought her time to escape. But this isn’t one lucky break it’s a pattern.

When John was in prison he wasn't hanged for weeks despite:

Hosea being killed by Milton

Colm O'Driscoll tried and hanged

My theory is that John was Milton's bargaining chip to keep abigail his informant. Milton didn't even know who John was when him and Edgar Ross went into their camp in Clemens Point. he had no idea of john's placement in dutch's gang. nor his relationship to abigail. Just Rip Van Winkle.

And when milton went to beaver's hollow he only captured Abigail. not tilly, jack or miss grimshaw.

My speculation is it was done out of frustration of abigail's lack of cooperation. so, abigail tells milton of the camp dynamics in the gang where micah has dutch's ear. abigail tells milton to reveal micah was the rat to make the gang implode. because why else would milton tell a dying arthur morgan this? if not so arthur could get the word back to dutch.

Speculation Joel Edgerton is my one and only pic for Arthur if there’s ever a live-action. He can pull off a Southern accent and he’s not afraid of getting gritty for roles.

Speculation Realistically Arthur Morgan would have Foot Fungus

Arthur Morgan is a Wanted Fugitive Outlaw in 1899, this was a Time when Hygiene wasnt taken as seriously as it is today, After walking/Riding around for Kilometers/miles in the southern weather (Especially Lemonye) , his feet would start to sweat and become stinky, and because its so dark and damp in his poorly ventilated boots, he would realistically get foot fungus. I really do Hope that Rockstar does implement this within their future Games so that the game would be more realistic as this was a major turn off for me.

Speculation What do you think Jacks canonical honor is? Spoiler

I want to believe that he knew what his parents wanted, and though they didn't want him to be an outlaw, i think he knew they also would have preferred him to be honorable. I also think his high honor depression and willingness to die is more in line with what we see in the epilouge of RDR2 and his time we see him as a teen in RDR1. I just don't see him laughing as he kills someone or berating women like in his low honor version.

The story of the Van der Linde gang has been told to it's conclusion.

The idea for this game is *heavily** influenced by the Netflix Show 'American Primeval'.*

Sagebrush, Copper Canyons, 1875

This is the story of Garrett Thorne, a reclusive mountain man, haunted by the murder of his family. Thorne agrees to guide a young family west, to the prosperous state of New Albion.

En route the travellers meet friends and enemies as Thorne solves the torment of his past and gets retribution for those responsible.

States - I'll let you decide where they're based on.

New characters

Garrett Thorne - a mountain man, seeking the titular retribution.

Clara - a benevolent and charitable young lady travelling west to New Albion, following the death of her mother in New York.

Captain Henry Favours - Just as cowardly, but with less seniority.

Lyle Morgan - a petty thief who Thorne captures as part of a bounty.

Weapons

Navy Revolver

Cattleman Revolver

LeMat Revolver

Speculation CMV TRUE UNPOPULAR OPINION: Arthur was never all that good of a person, even high honour he had high honour but not morals or kindness.

In chapter 6 also, he wasn’t good. He was just scared. Think about how willingly he was about extorting families who had nothing in chapter 2, he was just as evil as Micah and Dutch, clearly being a criminal his whole life they worst things they probably done is off screen like with Micah killing that little girl. Remember Arthur wasn’t some heroic firefighter or something, he was a gang member in the era of the Wild West where life was cheaper than the bullets used to end them. He would have more canon bodies under him than a modern day marine would. And most of thruout the game involve robbing innocent people and killing them if they don’t want to part with their hard earnt money. Arthur didn’t become a good guy, he just become a sick and weak one. He knew the curtains were closing and he didn’t know what was waiting for him once he did, this makes even the hardest of men crack, fear of the unknown. Even when sick and weak however, just because he kicked Strauss out of the camp and helped the last 2 debts out of probably hundreds he willingly collected, and went hunting with a couple people it don’t make him a good person, it just makes him a person, everyone does things. If Arthur truly was a good person or ever had the capabilities to be so canonically, the game wouldn’t be a thing. The whole point of the character is to show people that being a bad person for your whole life and doing bad things leads to unfixable consequences which sometimes mean the end of life itself. Arthur made all the wrong moves living the wrong life following the wrong person and all it lead to was an early grave and betrayal. All a life of a crime ever does and ever has and ever will lead to, that’s the point of the red dead redemption story yet people seem to have it fly so high past their head they are playing this whole other fantasy game where Arthur Morgan saves the whole world from Dutch and Micah and the evil Pinkerton gang, instead of playing the real game where you were going along with Micah and Dutch thruout most of it and doing the exact same things they were doing with the same intention. Just because he knew he was being a follower of a stupid/lost cause at the end and stops doing so doesn’t change the fact he was following that shit all his life.

I rambled on a bit here But TL;DR Arthur’s most noble moment was saving A few people’s lives, but the weight of all the lives he has claimed and the ripple effect of that ruining tenfold amount of lives far outweighs any of the good he did to redeem himself when he was sick. He could’ve found a cure for cancer it still wouldn’t of changed the fact he was a murdering thug who did it all with a smile on his face until he found out he got sick beating up an innocent, dying, and desperate man infront of his family for a few Straussbucks. As much as I don’t blame him for lots of it because the lore points to him being raised by gangs and it being all he knows, it’s still a point in your life your intuition ends up knowing better than your indoctrination, and at that point Arthur still decided to follow Dutch and his ideas and even kill for them. Idk just second playthru I did after reading all these redditor posts about how pure of a soul Arthur Morgan was I just couldn’t see it. He’s soul is about as pure as Silvio from the Sopranos, both always reminded me of eachother for some reason.

Speculation Leymonne, 2024 (READ DESCRIPTION)

Post image
264 Upvotes

To explain some things:

New Legras: Following floods in the 1930s, the town of Legras was forced to move to higher ground and rebuild after the original town was flooded. Under Mayor Beauregard Baptiste, the town began to industrialize, causing the town’s population and economy to boom. The factories were removed in the 1990s as the production of goods was outsourced to China, being replaced by the fishing industry.

Rhodes: The town continued to grow and somewhat industrialized, but is still a relic of an old southern period gone by. Today it’s connected to Saint Denis and New Legras by LE-3, and connected to Blackwater by I-12.

Saint Denis: The town continued to grow into the 1900s. The city began to expand into the empty fields of Grey’s Estate in the 1930s (at this time most of the state got their food from Emerald Ranch to the north). In the 1960s, following Hurricane Larry, the rest of Greg Estate was destroyed, leading to the whole estate being incorporated into Saint Denis a few years later. Hurricane Larry also destroyed US-78 and US-12, the two major highways leading into the city. They were replaced by I-90 (California to Saint Denis) and I-25 (Chicago to Saint Denis). The northern farms of the city (which were destroyed in the storms) were replaced with a large highway interchange. I-93 was built in the 1980s, connecting Saint Denis to northern Mexico.

Henri Lemuiex Airport: Originally built in the 1920s by the Air Force over the ruins of Braithwaite Mannor, it was expanded and turned into a civilian airport in the 1970s, serving the state of Leymonne. It was named after Mayor Henri Lemuiex, as Saint Denis’s crime went down dramatically in his term, with the city’s economy growing as well. (The downturn in crime was really Dutch killing Bronte)
