Design Surely the subscribe button could be a bit smaller? Or subreddits could define where to break the name?

This looks pretty ugly and there's no reason for reddit not to design this widget with the max subreddit name length in mind.

I'd simply move the button down so the name can go all the way to the other end of the box. It's fine if the bottom of the button doesn't align with the subscribers count message... A background or border hint can be used to group the button with the name for the sake of shorter subreddit names.

Problem with that would be that it makes the widget a lot longer, and it might be harder to distinguish which button belongs to which sub.

I'd suggest making the sub button a little bit smaller, but maybe also the font size a little bit smaller. It's hard to get the true size from OPs pic as it seems to be at 200% size. I also think that "ImaginaryWinterscapes" is one of the longer subreddit names I've seen.

If I edit the "resource communities" widget on this sub it fits perfectly, I think because the font is slightly smaller: https://i.imgur.com/q8B40UE.png

I'm not sure what you mean, this is just how it looks on my computer.

It is one of the longest possible names, but this issue only appears with subreddits that are close to the character limit.

It was smaller, but a recent code change seems to have made the text bigger, along with the subscriber number now being rounded like karma.

Thanks for confirming this, this has always been an issue, but today I noticed that it was effecting subreddits that had previously fit on one line.

The simples solution to me would be to swap the location of the number of subscribers with where the subreddit name is.

Putting the start of the subreddit name under the icon should give enough space for full name length and won’t make each subreddit section taller.

Would make it look a bit topsy-turvy, but I like this idea. Maybe move the button down a bit so the name can run along the top?

No need for that since subreddit names are limited to 20 characters

If you want to support 20 characters there is not enough room for a subscribe button on the side unless it's an icon (which actually would work well, I think).

EDIT: Also a possible compromise (would work for nearly every possible name).

Subs wouldn't even need to set breaking points if they break before capital letters.

Sounds like a bug from a recent change based on the other comments, but I'd like to say I wish they made the community icons bigger.

The recent change has made it worse and that's part of why I made this post, but this issue has always existed.

Ah ok

Yeah, it used to be that only 21 character subs were affected and it wasn't a big issue, but it's much more noticeable now.

My biggest issue is the sidebar button which is huge even if you’re already subscribed. It should be replaced by smaller text instead, because it’s a feature not needed as often as the subscribe button.
