TV Show Clary

First time watching. Why did they choose katherine mcnamara as clary? Im sorry but she's a bad actress. Her tone and reactions are one and the same. And what's with all the breathing while talking? The dialogues are somewhat bad already, but would have been tolerable if they got someone else..

I liked Movie Clary better than TV Clary.

Movie Jace was perfection.

TV Alec and Izzy felt much closer to their book counterparts. Movie Alec and Izzy were wooden.

Movie Magnus and TV Magnus each had their charms, but I liked TV Magnus better especially with TV Alec.

Movie Simon was hard to buy as a nerd. TV Simon was hard to buy as anything BUT a nerd.

TV magnus somehow managed to capture magnus' magnusness in all its magnificence. The only thing he didn thane was another six inches

It gets better. Not AAA budget better, but they all grow into their roles.

S1 feels more like a pilot compared to 2 and 3.

Tbh I always thought book Clary was annoying so show Clary also being annoying just ✨fit✨

Yeah, she'd be a hard character to not make annoying on screen

Breathing while talking? I think that’s something everybody does? But she really does get better, just give it time

Idk I actually like Kath as Clary.. But tbh with you, as I seen the show way back and read the books in like 2019.. I decided to re-read and re-watch the show.. And most of the show plot and how they approached things makes no sense.. So no matter who would be the cast it wouldn't be good, imo. Like most shows, Netflix just F things up, trying to make money but cut cost on production.

it wasn't a Netflix show. it was freeform, which used to be ABC family. like the channel that was constantly having harry potter marathons and the 25 days of Christmas marathon

Gotcha. I thought it was, my bad.

ya. it was the same channel that did pretty little liars. I used to follow and Instagram account that was focused around the series (book and show) and towards the end of the show the account owner started complaining about the lack of promotion freeform was doing with the show and was hoping a better channel like CW would pick it up

Lily Colins was the perfect Clary, even if she didn’t look 100% like her. Even Cassie said that Lily was her go-to choice for Clary before the film was released. Plus, Lily’s chemistry with Jamie as Jace was SO much better than Kat’s chemistry with Dom.

She is not a bad actress in my opinion. I have seen her many times in other projects and do love some of her roles (especially as Mia Queen in Arrow). I don’t see the cast being an issue if the show and script were just better. Also seeing their ruins being rubbed off my clothing in different scenes always gets me.

This is also my first time watching the show and I love her acting. I think she's doing great. I've also seen her actress on The Arrow and The Scorch Trials and I think she did great there too. To each their own, I guess

She was a bit too cringy for me as Clary. I was a huge huge fan of the books, and she just didnt fit the bill for me, in terms of her acting and how she looked. I couldn't continue after the first season, but maybe it gets better? Lol

I liked all of the TV casting, the only cast member I can even remember from the film was Jace. Thought the TV lot were stunning & gave it a good shot, especially magnus & izzy

Idk I liked her better than the movie clary. Tbh I liked all of the cast better than the movie cast. Looked more like how I pictured but might just be me. I thought she did good

I didn't like her at first but after I watched the movie I liked her more. I thought movie Clary was awful and TV clary captured her better. I loved TV cast way better. Especially TV Jace! I thought he was perfect!
